The pinch lock at the tops is the key! By Philly
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and it looks like it will work great, except for raccoons (but not much can be done about them). It sits on a pole and has a pinch mechanism that keeps the squirrels from being fling off the top and sit inside and eat to their hearts content.

No Birds By duke
Since the 2 birdfeeders have been placed where the old feeders used to be, not one little bird has been on either feeder. I am still using the same feed, so that can not be the reason.

Hello,

To help attract the birds to a new style feeder we recommend placing a metal pie pan on the ground with some seed in it. Also removing any other feeders in the yard will help the birds to become accustomed to the new feeder.

Not squirrel-proof By JMDa
The squirrels love this feeder. The top is not secure. The squirrels are able to climb right in and help themselves.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We apologize for this experience and would be happy to provide assistance.

To ensure the lid of the feeder is tight the hanging wire can be pulled upward while the lid is locked into place. Adding a baffle to the feeder can help to keep the squirrels from getting on the top.

Our Consumer Relations Team can be reached at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any questions.

Not squirrel proof By Christine
We have tried many feeders and I did a lot of research before buying this one.
The mechanism seemed intelligent. Unfortunately, so are squirrels. I watched one while he figured out how it works and how to get around it. He was able to hang upside down, hold the door open with one hand and feed with the other! And so far we have yet to see any birds use it!

Hello Christine,

We appreciate the time taken to share this review and apologize for the recent experience with this feeder.

Squirrels can be extremely determined and will go to great lengths to eat the seed in a feeder. To prevent squirrels from jumping on the roof, we recommend using a baffler above the feeder. It is also recommended to hang a feeder at least 5 feet from the ground and 10 feet from launching points such as rooftops, branches, and fences.

We hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any questions.

Good product By Professor Gadget
I bought a 2-pack for a bird lovin' friend in Round Rock, Tx who has a pretty smart squirrel to contend with. That rascal has figured out a way to hang onto an end of a feeder and not put weight on the cover bar, reach around the corner and dip out a few seeds....but that is the pivotal word here....a few, unlike the feast it enjoyed prior to these feeders being deployed in The Squirrel War, Battle Of Round Rock. My friend is very pleased and complimentary about the quality and function.

excellent quality By Mikie
I bought a 2-pak Birdscape Squirrel-Be-Gone feeder, which I feel was a fantastic bargain. Both arrived sooner than expected in good quality packing boxes. I was so pleased with the size and how sturdy the feeders are. Very nice Christmas gift!

spings too tight! By Mary65
We have bought two of your feeders both the barn type one dbl wide and the other single wide the double was great as far as the tightness of the springs but the squirrels hold on to the bar that attaches to the roof and lay on the weight bar and get enough to feed on w/out shutting it. The second single barn feeder would be fine but
the spring is so tight that the squirrel or( even a racoon I think) :) can literally sit right there and eat no problem. We have many trees so hanging away in a clear spot is impossible. I will return the new barn as it did not fix my problem. In saying that..... I think your design is great just needs some tweaking. Looser springs and taller body from top to bottom on the wider barn w/ out that side bar holding the roof so they cannot hold onto the top and hang to the food bins. Also If in your video you say a squirrel can jump 8ft from the ground why are the poles only 5-7ft? you would actually still need both baffles to make it work properly. Any suggestion on how to loosen the springs?

Hello Mary,

The knob on the side of the feeder can be used to adjust the sensitivity of the feeder. To adjust, unscrew the knob until it loosens slightly. The knob can be moved forward to increase the sensitivity or backwards to decrease the sensitivity. Once the desired settings are reached, the knob can be tightened again.

Squirrels are able to jump vertically up to 4 feet. Because of this we recommend hanging a feeder 5-8 feet off of the ground. They are able to jump up to 8 feet horizontally.

We hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any questions.

Very Nice Feeders By MikeC
Good looking feeders and function as advertised. The hanging cable needs to be shorter or adjustable. Feeder is too close to the ground, therefore too close to predators. I pulled the cable through the bottom of the feeders and attached a cable clamp. It now hangs at a safe height off my Shepard's hook.
