Great Feeder: Birds Love It! By usstricom
I removed the top and bottom of the feeder and painted them a complementary color for the house--I left the major portion of the feeder the powder-coated black. It took a few days for the birds to return, but I really like not having to refill it as often as I did the old yellow feeder.

my fave feeder By
Very durable feeder. What I like most is that I can put shelled peanuts around the black rings, and when I put in the sunflower seeds, the peanuts stay right there, for the woodpeckers.

Amazon Review, Terrific Feeder By
We live in a housing development on around 60 acres close to town- I bought two lots and have the house on 6.5 acres of mostly older growth woods (as is the entire development). So it's mostly wood birds, lots of squirrels, raccoons, and opossum. Have a fairly large deck behind the house where the land drops around 20 feet into irregular terrain but again filled with old growth oak, etc. and uncleared- so there's about 20 feet or so behind the house of 'clearing' with trees close to but not hanging over the house. Found these at Lowe's but they don't carry them anymore and- of all the feeders I've tried- these are my favorite. Easy to fill, holds sunflower seeds well, and the squirrels have a hard time cleaning them out so they last a long time full of seed (most of it actually goes to birds). We've even attracted doves and seen a few on these feeders- a weird sight in a weird habitat! Most species of wood birds love 'em and you can fix the bottom or top coming loose getting knocked around by racoons by lightly tapping the slots with a small hammer, wood block, etc. and tightening them up but are still easy to twist open and fill. I'm buying extras in case they ever disappear! Screwed a long four hook shepherd's hook from Lowe's on my deck posts and hang them from them- look nice and are easy to grab from the bottoms to take off, refill, and re-hang. Well built and attractive.

Tan Straight Sided Sunflower Tube Feeder - Amazon Review By
I had bought one of these at Lowes and just love it. I put shelled peanuts in it and have found it to be most durable against the squirrels that come in my yard. They do still get on it and eat the peanuts but they haven't found a way to chew it apart like all the others I've tried. I may even buy another one just to have it on hand.
