Review RateNot squirrel proof at all
The squirrels were able to get to my wonderful new (expensive- hubby paid almost $100 for it at The Wild Bird Store in Mpls.) and they’ve torn off and chewed most of the little plastic caps that keep the seed from falling out! I’m super sad...Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience. To deter squirrels, we recommend placing the feeder at least ten feet away fromlaunching spots, such as trees or decks, and at least five feet above the ground. Ading cayenne pepper to the seed also works well as it will not affect the birds (since they have no sense o f smell or taste) but will repel the squirrels.

Review RateGreat to combine with a net
Wow! Combined with a net underneath and a rock in the middle, this can stand up to the gusts of wind we get. Our birds love it!!
Review RateBrid feeder
Easy to install and the birds love it
Review RateQuality construction
Bought a new triple tube feeder last fall. A bear visited us in July. Damaged the feeder pole but not the feeder. As long as everything was down I decided to take apart the feeder to give it a good cleaning. I've had this type feeder before and taking apart was never a problem. But this time I couldn't get the feeder put back together. The girl at Perky was very understandable and helpful. I bought a new feeder and they were kind enough to give me a discount for the new purchase. Lesson from all this is don't take this type feeder apart to try and clean.
Review RateQuality construction and design
Bought a triple feeder last October. Took it apart to clean it and now can't get it back together. Had this design feeder, evidently from another source, for many years and took it apart to clean and never had any problems putting it back together. We like the Perky Pet feeder but NEVER take it apart to clean it. Not sure how you get dried seed, etc. cleaned out of all of the nooks and crannys but NEVER take it apart or you'll be like me and have to buy another feeder.Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience and appreciate the feedback. This feeder can be taken apart for cleaning as shown in the video at the link below. The metal parts around the feeding ports do not remove.

Review RateNice bird feeder but not squirrel proof...very hard to fix when parts fall
I have bought a Perky-Pet copper finished triple tube bird feeder ...Since then, the squirrel dropped it once and another time undone The circular copper part...I lost the 2 plastic opener where the birds feed and I'm not able to fix it again ...very hard to arrange so I'm not using it anymoreResponse From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateI love it, waiting for the birds
I love the feeder, unfortunately the birds arent' coming around (except blue jays, who don't count), but then they weren't coming around to my old feeder either. I'm looking forward to the change of seasons when I'm sure they'll be back. I saw this feeder at my dentist office and the birds were all over it. I like the option of having three different kinds of seed, and it looks really nice. It is just as advertised.
We bought this bird feeder to replace one we bought last year that did not last. We love the copper color and it is made very well. We bought the 7' pole and also put a squirrel baffle on the pole underneath the feeder to prevent the squirrels from getting to feeder. It has attracted lots of birds too.
Bought this feeder, and guess I did not read all of the description. It says Copper Finish, and I assumed Copper. Unpacked it, filled it, put it up, and within 2 days the squirrels have landed on the top and eaten thru the plastic Topper; trying to get to the Food. Figure in another day or two that they will have destroyed the top and the Feeder will be worthless. What a loss of money. I do not recommend.Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
Perky-Pet® has a long history of producing high-quality and reliable bird feeders and products. We apologize for this unusual experience and would be happy to provide assistance.
The squirrel-resistant baffle should keep squirrels from staying on the feeder. Additional measures can be taken to keep these determined pests away. We recommend placing feeders at least 5 feet above the ground & 10 feet from the nearest jumping-off point, such as trees and decks. Adding cayenne pepper of safflower seed to the mix can repel squirrels while not affecting the birds.
Our feeders are covered by a one year replacement warranty. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) for additional assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What are the most popular bird seeds to use?
A: Black Oil Sunflower Seed is the most popular bird seed. It is much smaller than the traditional sunflower seed and best for those birds with smaller bills, such as the sparrow, junco and goldfinch. This seed is accepted by the greatest variety of birds.
Mixed Seed is also popular. It is best to buy the mixes that contain white proso millet, a tiny cream colored seed with a shiny shell. Mixes containing finely cracked corn and black oil sunflower are also preferred by a large number of birds.
Niger (Thistle Seed) is imported from Africa and Asia. Niger won't germinate, but it does have a tendency to become moldy due to lack of air circulation. If you notice mold on the seed, it must be removed from the feeder and the feeder must be cleaned thoroughly.
Q: How do I clean my bird feeders?
A: Before filling your feeder with fresh seed, it is recommended that the following precautions are taken:
- Remove all old seed.
- Soak feeder in a light water/bleach solution (9 parts water to 1 part bleach).
- Scrub feeder and allow to air dry.
- Rake and remove accumulated hulls and droppings from underneath the feeders.
- Spread mulch (bark or wood) under the feeder, replace mulch when soiled.
- Thoroughly wash hands after handling and cleaning feeders.
Q: What is the importance of providing water for wild birds?
A: Wild birds need fresh, clean water just as much as they need seed. Birds stay healthy by using water not just for drinking, but also for bathing, cleaning their feathers and to remove parasites. Waterers are better options than bird baths because they provide birds with fresh, clean water that prevents dirt and debris from contaminating it. In hotter climates or seasons, providing water for birds makes it easy for them to have access to a water source and retain their energy. By adding a water source, you also can attract a larger variety of birds to your yard. You may even attract more colorful birds that don't eat seed, but are in need of water!
