Review RateThe Best!
My favorite hummingbird feeder. Please never stop having them. I own 4, but one can never have enough of this model. I love the copper. No ANTS! Hummers love it, too.
Review RateNew design a piece of crap!
Why did you change the design? I have 6 of the old ones the hummers like real well. The new design is awful you cannot lift the flower ring to see if it is empty, I have about thirty hummers and they will not feed on this one. Why change a good feeder. The new one is a piece of crap!~Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience and appreciate the feedback. This will be shared with our Product Managers.
Birds are creatures of habit and can take some time to adjust to a new feeder. To aid in this transition, we recommend temporarily taking down any other established feeders.

Review RateWide mouth feeder design
I have used perky pet feeders for 10 years without any major issues, however, I recently purchased a new glass feeder with a 'wide mouth' for easy filling and cleaning. The problem the fluid will not come out through gravity. The design has changed with the new wide mouth and does not allows sufficient liquid to be held in the bottom container. This is the reason the birds do not use the new feeders as they cannot get sufficient liquid. I tried modify the base but was only partially successful. I will only buy feeders with the original 'small mouth' in the future.Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative

The nectar should flow into the base of this feeder as the birds eat, keeping it full. Please give our Consumer Relations Team a call at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) so we can better understand the situation and make this right.
The inside of the bottom where the flowers are rusts from contact with the water. I called the Customer Service line (855) 737-5973 and their response was "we have no recommendations for removing the rust". Obviously, this is a poorly designed feeder. It looks really nice but rusts within a few months. I recommend you choose another designed feeder.Response From WoodstreambrandsLauren : Consumer Relations Representative

If you buy this, buy some red model paint too, as the red on the feeder fades within a month of sunlight. It also rusts fairly quickly too, so I tend to leave it in vinegar over night when I change the nectar.Response From WoodstreambrandsLauren : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateLeaky joint renders vacuum useless when the feeder is tilted slightly.
Picked one of these feeders up yesterday, it is being returned today!, it leaks and there is no way of preventing it without a sealed joint on the base unit and without it it is going to continue to leak no matter how quickly you turn it upright to form a vacuum The vacuum created in the bottle is only good when the feeder is in the upright position and it stays upright, any slight breeze blows it a few degrees out of the upright position and air enters the bottom chamber through the joint which renders the vacuum useless.Response From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations Representative
When the base is tightly secured to the bottle, this feeder should not leak when in the upright position. In windy areas though, the feeder may tilt enough to allow some nectar to escape. For best results, we recommend placing the feeder in a sheltered location. This will help prevent leaking as well as make the hummingbirds happy, as they prefer to feed in calm environments.

Leaks profusely around the edge of where the two bottom parts come together if tilted slightlyResponse From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
We are sorry to hear about this experience and are happy to help. When the bottle is tightly secured to the base, and the feeder is turned upright quickly to create a vacuum, it should not leak.

Review RatePopular with the hummers
I have multiple feeders around my property and this one is by far the favorite "go to" for my hummingbird visitors. I ended up buying a second one and not disappointed. Both of these always empty first from all the usage. Easy to fill and clean. I have not experienced any leaking as some reviews stated, but you do have to flip it over quickly after filling as suggested. No complaints here, I would but this again.
This caught my eye immediately when I was at Home Depot, so I went ahead and purchased it... even though it was a bit more expensive than the others. My other cheaper feeder didn't attract any hummers, so I was thinking maybe I was getting what I paid for. Fast forward one week, and the copper is already rusting. I wished that had occurred to me to consider before buying. Granted, I've seen a hummer or two, but that was days ago. Not sure what can be done to prevent that.Response From WoodstreambrandsLauren : Consumer Relations Representative

Filling Your Feeder:
Here are a few things to review before filling the feeder:
- Check to make sure the base compartments are securely tightened
- Push container into base to close ports to prevent leakage
- Unscrew to cap to fill with nectar
- Screw cap back on securely to form an airtight seal.
- We recommend keeping the feeder in the closed position until you get to the spot where you want to hang it.
- To open nectar reservoir - hold base with one hand and pull up on the container with the other to open ports for feeding. Your feeder is now ready.
Please note: if the cap does not fit securely on to the feeder and you see a gap between the cap and the feeder, the seal may be the issue. Please contact our Consumer Care Department at 1.800.800.1819 or email@example.com to request a new outer ring for you cap.
To replace the outer ring, push firmly on the center of the cap to pop out the middle. Replace with new outer ring.
