Squirrels can't hurt it By Debbie

We've had ours for years. The plastic did break down but some gorilla tape and/or glue and some rivets gave us more time. We have given up on the idea of ever keeping the squirrels away (we live in the woods in Maine), we just wanted a feeder that the squirrels couldn't destroy. We did realize that we had to put extra twisty-ties over the lid, because the squirrels did figure out how to open the lid. We found a dead squirrel stuck in the center tube one winter! With the lid secure, they eat out of this one by hanging upside down on the cage, but they have never managed to hurt it.

Great yesterday and still great today By Jack

l have my original Hyde feeder and my second after it evolved to Haveaheart and my third and fourth by Perky Pet. Aside from the plastic seed container deteriorating, this feeder will last forever. However, the plastic seed container is no longer available as a replacement; thus, when the seed container is at the end of its useful life, the rest of the feeder becomes trash. Sad. But... this feeder, including the seed container, will last longer than most feeders on the market and is a good value.

Improvements to Squrriel Dilemma Feeder By Thegolfer71

I just received my squirrel dilemma feeder and realized that it was difficult to fill the bottom section of the feeder with the square tube still at the bottom of the wire grill I think that we could come up with a solution to this problem by constructing a bottom plate or the bottom section that would keep the seed in and you could feel it on the outside of the wire cage .

Improvements to Squrriel Dilemma Feeder By TheGolfer71

This is a great bird feeder in a great idea for 3 levels however filling the bottom level when it's inside of the cage is quite difficult if you made a plate to fit the bottom level you could then fill that hole entire plastic square liner outside of the cage making it easier for filling with less spillage.

feeder is nice problem is squirrels By jan

Our squirrels very quickly figured out how to get their share of seed. They jump onto the feeder, hang upside down and use their foot to get to the seed. we have a baffle on top of the feeder but that does not help. I think the next step is an air soft gun but from my brother's experience that doesn't work either. I don't mind feeding the squirrels some food but those little critters can clear the seed in no time.

Our birds love it By SteveF
Already own one that is maybe 5 or 6 years old. You can replace the plastic parts and not have to buy a new feeder, which is handy here in Florida. The sun will ruin the plastic in 2-3 years. I'm buying a second one so we can offer a verity of seeds.

A real Dilemma By
Not as easy as it looks to fill. My wife tried and then I tried and we ended up with seed everywhere. Poorly designed. It would be far better if each container was fully sealed and then they could be filled up out of the cage and then stacked. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Not squirrel proof By
The squirrels in backyard figured out how to lift the top in two days and get to the seed. I drilled holes on opposite sides of the top and used spring loaded clips/rings to hold the top in place. No further squirrel problems. However, after the harshest winter in 100 yrs in Michigan I found that two of the three plastic chambers have split apart vertically at the corners. Hopefully replacement parts are available.

Amazon Review, Nice Feeder Design By
I had an earlier version of this feeder which was not separated into three distinct sections. This one is a little harder to fill with seed as you need to use a funnel to fill the separate sections through the center tube--a good feature if you are using different seeds in each section. I liked the earlier version better; nonetheless, I like it and the birds love it.

I have had this bird feeder at least 10 years and was able to purchase replacement inserts for it. It is a favorite with the birds. You can either fill it with 3 different types of seeds, or take out the dividers and just fill it with one as I do. Actually purchased a second one because I have been pleased with it and find the birds really use this one more than my others.

Q.Hello, The plastic silo part of our evenseed feeder has cracked, but the metal cage is intact. Can we buy the replacement silo part separately? Thanks.

We apologize as replacement parts are not available. However, all feeders are covered by a 30 day return policy and a one year warranty with a copy of the purchase receipt. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) for further assistance.
