Five Stars “This feeder has some excellent features – bee guards on the "flowers" and the base contains the nectar so the yellow jackets can't reach anything. Good reservoir size, too. Very pleased with my purchase.” (Review from DebNoCo) Read More Reviews »

More water in the ant moat! By JB

Why the scallops in the top of the ant moat? It would hold more water without these. The wind blows alot at my home knocking out the water. I have duct taped underneath the hook hole , also taped over the "scallops" so they will hold more and I don't have to check them twice a day.

Miss the Older Model By Laura

I understand the desire to make the feeder ‘cleaning and filling friendly’ but I sure miss the old narrow mouth model. I never had any problems with them, and a good bottle brush kept them very clean. The newer models either leak, fall apart when full or do not burp( I had two from 2016 that had a silicone insert that would only work if you came by every hour and ‘burped ‘ it). I wish there were a way to find some of the older narrow mouthed models. I bet if you started making them again they’d be a bestseller! The birds far prefer them side to side as well.

We appreciate these comments! It's feedback like this that is used when determining what products to make available in the future. The information has been shared with our Product Managers.

Keeping the feeder out of the direct sunlight will help prevent it from leaking (as liquid expands when it gets warmer). If the base does not fill up with nectar automatically, we recommend unscrewing the bottle from the base very slightly; it may have too much of a vacuum seal.

Birds don’t like new design By Dan

We have six of these feeders and go through over a gallon and a half of sugar water each day. However, the top hangar eyelet needs to be reinforced as it disintegrated after a few months and drops the whole feeder. We purchased a replacement at Home Depot and it has a newer fluted top and longer threaded neck. Design is good, BUT, the birds won’t drink from it. After a month of trying, we exchanged it again at Home Depot for an identical feeder. Same results. Our other five feeders are emptied every day but the birds do not attempt to feed at the new one. We love these feeders but cannot understand why the birds won’t approach the new design. We have moved it to all the different locations to try and fool the birds but they are not fooled. Just can’t figure this out.

Base falls off of bottle dumping fluid. By D&J

We purchased a new "our best" glass hummingbird feeder to replace our very years old original of same design. We like that type of feeder. However upon filling the new bottle it does not seem to have very good threads in base for tightening base to bottle. After just a few hours of hanging, the base will repetitively fall off dumping all the sticky liquid all over our deck. Frustrating!!

    Great product By Farm girl

I love this feeder. I've had 0 problems with it. I just wish the ant meat was larger. The hummers are actually drinking out of that as well!

Hummer don't like new design. By Gma

They don't like the new design. Great design change idea but for some reason they don't like it.. The bee guard maybe the problem.. We have the old design out and the new, they don't touch the new. We even took away the old one, just to see what they would do... they ignored it and went to our plants instead. Put the old design out and they returned to the feeder.

    Response From Woodstreambrands
    Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

It can take time for hummingbirds to adapt to new food source. We recommend keeping the established feeder removed until the new feeder is being utilized. Planting or placing colorful flowers around the feeder can also help introduce the hummingbirds to the new feeder.

Shipping is too high! By Bebe

Seriously?? $15 for shipping??? I can buy something at Walmart & save myself the unbelievable shipping charges. From reading the reviews, I am not sure I want to buy one of these new feeders anyway! The shipping is almost as much as the cost of the feeder!

    Response From Woodstreambrands
    Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Shipping costs are calculated by UPS and are dependent on several factors such as the weight of the product, where it is being shipped to and the method of shipment. If you would like to save on shipping costs, our feeders can be purchased from several local retailers. Great feeder, Major flaw...base falls off due to threading issue By Shannon

I LOVED these feeders so much, that I purchased 4 more with replacement lids in September 16. 1st, I had to purchase replacement caps/lids as we had several feeders come crashing to the ground due to the lids breaking at the hanger part. No biggie I thought, buy some backup caps and continue on. The Hummies LOVE these feeders and we had 4 up at all times, at our house in AZ. I also had an occurance of the base falling off when the feeders were full of nectar. Again, I thought freak occurancem no biggie...boy was I wrong. I received my 4 new feeders and low and behold, same issue. The base does not tighten completely. When you thread it to tight, it will “pop” and start threading again, hence, never getting to a tightened state to secure the base. So, as the base truly wont tighten completely and even if it does and you think it is secure, the base will fall off and you now have a nectar mess to clean up...no fun! Ants are also no fun and this leads to adds when the base fails, leaking or spilling all the nectar. Why won’t these thread properly? Why won’t they tighten and retain the base securely attached to the feeder? I LOVED these and the hummie loved these, but now I don’t trust them and now won’t use them. Why with so many negative reviews of the same problem, a problem with the thread on the base, have you not addressed this? Please fix this and the lids/caps.

faulty threading ; remove food color & chemicals By Kari

I have purchased these wide-mouth feeders before , but the recent one does not thread properly and falls off. Also I REALLY dislike red food coloring or any preservative in the sugar water. All that's needed is a 4:1 mix of water to sugar . that's it ! Please take the food coloring out of your product . I will be returning my feeder and hope the next one threads properly. I am interested to see if the birds prefer flat flowers to raised as some have pointed out ... this I do not know yet . A pipecleaner works well in the ports and are $1.00 for a package at Dollar Tree... just saying'..

While we only use food grade ingredients in our products, we are exploring the concept of expanding our product line with natural sources for colored nectar. In the meantime, we do offer clear nectar if you prefer it

    leaky hummingbird feeders By Linda

Does anyone know of a brand that does "NOT" leak?

    Response From Woodstreambrands
    Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

We apologize for this experience. Making sure the feeder is protected from the wind will help prevent leaks. We also recommend protecting it from the sun, since liquid expands as it gets warmer.

Some other tips to consider would be to disassemble the feeder and then re-assemble it, making sure all the connections are lined up properly. To create a vacuum seal, the lid must be threaded onto the bottle tightly.

We hope this information was helpful! Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any questions or for additional assistance.
