Keep Out Insects When you’re filling your feeders, you want to ensure that nectar is reserved just for the birds. Thanks to the built-in ant moat, you can keep those pesky ants at bay with little effort. Simply fill the cap with water to prevent ants from gaining access to the feeder ports.
Multiple Ports
Multiple Ports for Simultaneous Feeding The Top Fill Feeder has been specially designed to offer a more natural feeding experience by providing soft, flower-shaped feeding ports that are more lifelike than hard plastic ports. In addition, each of the four feeding stations features a perch, so multiple hummers can sit and dine at the same time.
132TF easy to clean
Comes Apart for Thorough Cleaning Hummingbirds prefer a nectar source that is fresh and clean. With the Top Fill Feeder, keeping a clean feeding station is no longer time consuming. The wide mouth bottle makes it easy to clean the hard-to-reach places inside the bottle. Plus, the base comes apart completely, so no piece goes uncleaned due to inaccessibility. Remember to clean your feeder at least once per week with a mild soap and water solution to prevent mildew buildup.

Five Stars “This feeder is easy to clean and refill. The hummingbirds readily approach it and I love not having to refill it every day. I am careful when the weather turns hot to put less in the feeder.” (Review by Nyms)" Read More Reviews »

Perky Pet Top Fill By Gary

After the first cleaning, cannot get the base assembly to snap together again. Horrible design. How do I get this replaced ?

Won’t release nectar to flowers By A.L.

Upon first use the reservoir will not release the nectar to the flowers. Opened it up to find a stopper covering the hole from the bottle to the reservoir that will not budge. Read similar issues in comments above. Untightening the lid to help the “vacuum” as suggested by CS does not help. Disappointed with this purchase. Have had many hummingbird feeders thru the years and never issues like this.

Best feeders on the market By Michele

I've bought lots of feeders but this is my favorite of all. I love the silicon flowers so much better than the plastic ones! Easy to fill. Easy to clean. I bought two more the next week. Im planning on replacing all my feeders with these! Highly recommend!

doesn't work By Cleobald

I finally figured out why no birds were coming to this feeder: for some reason, the liquid is not coming through. Looking at it more closely, I see that there's a very tiny hole that it must flow through, and it seems to clog easily. It seems like a bad design.

Hello,

Thank you for providing this feedback! From this description, it sounds as if there is too much of a vacuum seal on the feeder. We recommend slightly loosening the lid, allowing the nectar to flow to the base.

Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any questions or for additional assistance.

leaks By Kim

Love the design of the feeder, but no matter what I do I cannot get it from leaking. No matter how I afix the bottom pieces together as soon as I fill it the product comes out. I just got this for my birthday, and the first time I filled it it seemed fine. However when I came home the next day, the feeder was empty.

Soft plastic ports go bad in the weather. By Fred

I like the look of the feeder, and the birds like to eat from it. But the design has several problems. We put a copper wire bail on ours, hanging from a wire ring we added around the jar. That was because the top came unscrewed in the wind a couple times, causing the feeder to fall and break. (Perky-Pet was good about replacing it). With a separate ant trap, no more problem with ants or with the top coming off. Have not had any issues with the base section leaking as others have. But the soft plastic flower ports go bad in the weather - discoloration, then tearing. We got our ports replaced under warranty once (they replaced the whole feeder), but now the feeder is 2 years old from original purchase date and we are told there are no replacement parts for sale. Not happy with having to buy a new feeder already, just because the ports go bad within a year.

Leaking feeder By Bird Watcher

Bought the Perky Pet hummingbird feeder based on capacity and construction. The first week, the feeder worked perfectly. After the first week, the feeder started a steady drip until the reservoir was empty. Cleaned and refilled with the same result. Tore the feeder apart and discovered that the internal "float" ring was filled with nectar causing the float to sink rather than stopper the inlet. Drilled 2x holes to drain and sealed with food grade sealant........works like a champ, but this is a design flaw.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: This is my first Top Fill Hummingbird feeder, what are some good tips to filling and cleaning my new feeder?

A: Follow the steps on the chart for best filling and cleaning tips.

Q: I typically get a lot of ants around my hummingbird feeders, what can I do to prevent them from getting to the nectar?

A: No worries, with this top fill feeder - it has a built in ant moat right in the lid of the feeder. After filling your feeder and hanging, simply pour a small amount of water in the top of the lid.

Q: What criteria should I use when selecting a hummingbird feeder?

A: Make sure it is one that will be easy to clean and fill, especially since you will need to clean the feeder every few days. If you are worried about bees and wasps or ants invading the feeder, purchase a hummingbird feeder with bee guards, such as the Perky-Pet® model #203CP or ant guards, Perky-Pet® model #242.

Q: How do I clean my hummingbird feeders?

A: Hummingbird feeders need to be cleaned every 1-2 weeks. Use hot water and a bottle brush, along with mild soap; be sure to rinse thoroughly. The Perky-Pet® cleaning mop is specifically designed for the purpose of cleaning hummingbird feeders, and is very convenient to use. This cleaning mop can also be used on seed feeders and oriole feeders for those small, tight spaces that are difficult to reach.

Q: What is the importance of providing water for hummingbirds?

A. Hummingbirds need fresh, clean water just as much as they need nectar. Hummingbirds stay healthy by using water not just for drinking, but also bathing, cleaning their feathers and to remove parasites. Waterers are better options than bird baths because they provide hummingbirds with fresh, clean water that prevents dirt and debris from contaminating it. In hotter climates or seasons, providing water for hummingbirds makes it easy for them to have access to a water source and retain their energy.
