Bad design on new feeder By Sully46

I give this new feeder two stars because it is easy to clean and that's all. It leaks if the sun hits it. I have had a hummingbird feeder hanging in the same spot for 37 years and have never had it leak. This new one leaks. I returned it to the store and they gave me another one and guess what, it leaks also. Bad design!

Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

We apologize for this experience. When assembled with the bottle and base tightly secured, the hummingbird feeder should not leak. We recommend hanging the feeder level and keeping it out of the direct sunlight.

Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) with any questions or for additional assistance.

bad redesign flaw By pit-t-pat

For more than two decades these were the only feeders I used, and I LOVED THEM. Now with the new design change to the red flower petals they leak like crazy, never had that problem before. Sadly I purchased four new ones and every one of them leak! I do love the bee guards and the perches though, that some other feeders do not have.

We recommend keeping the bottle and the base assembled tightly to form a vacuum seal. The feeders should be hung level and kept out of the direct sunlight. We apologize for this experience. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) for additional assistance.

Perfect Feeders By SheFlysHi

I had bought one of these with our local dealer, but he was out when I went back to get another. I like them because they keep ALL bugs out of the nectar. I clean them frequently during the season, and the bug guards make it so much easier and not such an icky job. Thank you!

Buy Now - enjoy for ever... By "Hummer man"

At 74 yrs., hummers are one of my best friends.. est 30 - 40 in or near my yard so taking care of them with glass pinch waist feeders seems to keep them happy. GLASS ONLY - they do not like plastic, custom made food and nice trees to hide in... Perky Pets products are great- they and of course the hummers entertain kids walking past our home on their way to school and home again. The PP products give us better than HBO entertainment right outside the window.

Best feeder out there. By Watcher

Let me say, "Ilove, love love it." purchased two and have not experienced the leaking problem that I read about from other customers. The glass pinchwaist is the best feeder out there. We have been feeding hummers for over 40 years and this is their favorite. We leave the flowers off the feeding ports and just use the bee guards. We have six of these in our front yard and he hummers love them. We've tried just about every feeder out there and these are the best!!!!

Bad Design By Brad

This feeder used to be the best feeder you could find. When you went to the wide mouth bottle, it constantly leaks. I've had 3 different wide mouth feeders they all leak and make a mess. Go back to the old design.

Leaks. Bring back old style! By Hummer feeder

The new wide-mouthed feeders leak. Over the course of a day or two, there's nothing but a puddle left on the ground. I used it for one season and threw it away. I've used the old style feeders since 1991 without a single one leaking out of 5 different feeders. My grandparents/parents used the feeders for 50 years. No leaks. New style is also inelegant and cheap-looking. This was an amazing product that worked very well for decades. Taking a bit of stiff wire and a cut up sponge to create a mop for cleaning the old style was pretty easy compared to a feeder that leaks all the nectar.

Leaker By Rtl

More liquid leaks out than birds get. If the feeder is kept stock still l, it's OK, but with wind, etc. the flowers get fed.

Response From Woodstreambrands
Patty : Consumer Relations Representative

We appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback and apologize for the experience.

When wind is tilting a feeder to the point of leaking, we recommend moving it to a more sheltered location. This will help keep the nectar in the feeder, and hummingbirds often prefer to feed in calm environments.

Our feeders are covered by a 30-day return policy and a one year replacement warranty. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-PERKYPET (1-855-737-5973) for additional assistance.
