Poor quality By Sissy

My feeder bottom also rusted....disappointed. And I also wish it had a replacement available....only a red plastic one. I cleaned/refilled the feeder every 3 days...still rusted. I went back to my red plastic Walmart feeder.

Not happy with feeder By Barb

Our hummingbirds do not like the silver base. They will go to our orele feeder instead. When they do drink from this feeder (very seldom), they will not perch as shown in the pictures for this product. They will sit on the hook holding this feeder, but only look down and then fly away to the orele feeder. Disappointed!

After reading more reviews, i forgot to mention that the water in mine when I dumped it out (weekly) to change, always looked yellow. I don't have a receipt I'm sure....

This rusts, don't spend your money on it. By Chris in Portland

For some reason the hummingbirds around my house didn't totally love this feeder. Not like the smaller feeder I was hoping to replace. That's ok, birds still showed up but just not as frequently as before. The problem with this feeder like many others have noted is that the metal interior is rusting. I can't imagine the hummingbirds are gonna be stoked to come drink here. Reading other reviews here it seems like I should have kept my receipt to get a replacement/warranty feeder. Why would I have kept a receipt for this feeder?? That's insane. "Hey, I think we should hold on to the receipt for this feeder in case it rusts and the company that makes it requires a receipt to get this replaced" is nothing I or my wife said or thought when we bought this at the hardware store. This rusted out after only a few months! Avoid unless you don't mind the disposability of this feeder.

Base rusted out , sell replacement parts. By Crystal

I loved the fact that the mouth is wide and i can get my hand in it to clean it. After a few months mind too had the bottom rusted out.I am very disappointed this feeder does not offer replacement parts.I bought it because it looked well made and easy to clean out.Guess the joke was on me. I have a lot of friends that love feeding the humming birds and i will not be recommending this feeder. Maybe you should take your customer's advice and sell replacement parts. The feeder is not cheap.

I wrote P/P telling them after a year of rust problem like everyone who had used over a year. Their response was like all others metal bottom power coating was rust proof (hogwash!) if change the nectar often. Then states satisfaction guarantee/replacement warranty. I had told them after a year. I also suggested that they make a replacement bottom! I also suggusted they make a plastic bottom this fell on deaf ears as there was no mention of suggustion reason BIG CASH COW us hummers will have to buy new feeder.

Rust is a problem. By Pat

I covered the feeding surface with red fabric to attract hummers. They weren't interested in it before that. Now the metal reservoir has rusted inside so, with no replacement available, it's garbage, according to the letters I've read above.

Only feeder that will work for me. No rust yet like other reviews. By Koliemarie07

I've had this feeder up for about one week or so. Took a couple of days but the hummer's starting visiting it. I had already put out two other feeders that were the plastic kind and absolutely no hummers came to feed to them. When I do see the hummers out they will only feed at this one and not the other two. I've had the feeder a short time so I cannot comment on any rust at this point in time and hoping if I clean it every few days I can avoid the rust. We shall see. Four stars because the handle is super low to the mason jar and it will not hang on my poles unless I were to purchase a hanger for it. In my opinion they could've included a hook for the price. I used a couple of bread ties to hang until I buy a nice hanger for it.

I Love all wildlife, I feed all birds & just keep repairing, cleaning feeders. By Barb Oaks

#1- I have had better luck finding replacement parts for Perky-Pet products. #2- That said, in N.C the squirrels love my feeders. They have learned to climb plain (no added design) shepard's hook poles, hang by back feet and tip feeder to drink OR chew the plastic flowers off and/or chew edges of bottom to drain the feeder. 2017 - 7 feeders destroyed. Only feeder that survives year after year is a heavy glass Red Chili Pepper with rubber stopper & a glass tube with an internal plastic feeding port. now16 years old. Metal always rusts, even if it is decorative and does not touch the Hummingbird feed. My Hummers are attracted to RED, so I buy the red bottle, ( I never use food color in feed) - have red flowers nearby.

Rusted and the hummingbirds avoided it. By Jamie

The hummingbirds did not seem to like this feeder, maybe it is the silver top where the yellow flowers are. Also, mine rusted badly. Inside and on top of the metal base as well as the flowers. I have shopped for a replacement part for this and have found nothing. Plastic would be much better though the spring and summer rains. I still have the jar top, had to throw the base away. Hoping a replacement comes out soon!!
