Review RateGood feeder but not that sturdy
This feeder was amazing until it got cold and windy. After seeing the feeder covered in six squirrels one day, I wired it to the middle of the clothesline. In the wind the feeder dropped to the ground and the plastic seed holder broke at the connection points making it unusable. Another feeder into the trash. I go through a feeder a year. Time to cough up the big bucks and buy and sturdy, squirrel proof feeder at last.Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
We appreciate the time taken to share this feedback and are sorry to hear that this happened. Our feeders are covered by a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and a one-year replacement warranty.
To keep squirrels away when a location outside of jumping range cannot be found, try adding cayenne pepper to the seeds. This will not affect birds, but will repel the squirrels.

Review RateLove the size!Love the size. Prefer feeders less than 3 lbs. The look of the feeder is very quality looking. Putting them out this Fall.
Review RateAmazon ReviewWell-constructed and priced right - a great buy! As someone who will feed everything and everyone, i think this feeder is great. It's not squirrel-proof (they haven't figured out how to open it from the top yet, but they can eat from it easily enough), but I like feeding them too, so it's all good. Big birds (cardinals, female blue jays, turtle doves) and little birds alike can perch easily. The clear container bit is a good thicker plastic and has not broken despite hitting the ground a few times after getting knocked off the hanger by wind. Overall, birds, squirrels and humans are happy with this feeder in my backyard.
Review RateAmazon Review, Happy with the productThis is an excellent product. It does exactly what it is supposed to. Now I am spending twice as much for bird seed.
Review RateAmazon Review, attractive and durableEven though it only holds 2 lbs of bird seed, I still really love this feeder. It hangs from a tree branch (on a 23-inch metal hook, also made by Perky Pet and sold on Amazon). Together they have held up during storms and high winds. Squirrels still manage to get onto the feeder, but that is not due to any flaws in design- the squirrels are just very clever and determined. I highly recommend this birdfeeder! I enjoy watching cardinals and smaller birds feed from it, though it still accommodates larger birds like doves. It is a big hit in my yard.
Review RateAmazon Review, Good looking and functionalOnce the birds got used to it (different than the one I used previously that was sun-damaged), it looks good and works great. It also keeps the water off their feeding area and the top protects the feeder from the sun.
