Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone I® Feeder
The eight perch/feeding station set-up, coupled with the anti-squirrel technology makes this squirrel proof birdfeeder one of the most economical and convenient on the market!
The Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone I® Wild Bird Feeder features 8 U-shaped perches, 8 feeding ports and a 6 lb seed capacity. The interior seed tower is surrounded by metalwork. The clear, shatter-proof plastic reservoir makes it easy to monitor seed levels.;
How does this squirrel proof birdfeeder work? Its feeding ports have sturdy metal perches that allow birds to feed comfortably, but when the squirrels perch on them, their weight causes the entire metal casing to slip down, completely blocking the feeding ports and their access to the seed.
Remember to clean your squirrel proof birdfeeder once every two weeks with mild soap and water solution.

The perch is too short for most of my small birds. I notice they use any of my other feeders and they have trouble landing on this one. I would like to be able to replace it with another feeder. Disappointed. I called during your normal business hours and no one was there to take my call. Frustrated.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
Birds are creatures of habit and can take time to adapt to a new food source. To help entice them to a new feeder, we recommend placing a shiny pie plate filled with bird seed under the feeder. Placing a fresh water source near the feeder also works well to attract the birds.

The squirrel knocks the lid off and even at the lightest spring setting the squirrel is hanging there eating his fill!Response From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations Representative

Review Ratelast about a month than squirrels figure it outin 1 month the guards were disabled and a free for all. squirrels win again.
Review RateSquirrels, Foiled again!Sorry to say, I saw a squirrel happily upside-down and munching on sunflower seed this morning. The spring tension, while adjustable is not sufficient to close off a persnickety squirrel and spring back to allow birds full access to the opening. On the lightest tension, the top 30% of the opening remains covered. Maybe my Florida gray squirrels are in better shape, lighter weight, than your squirrels!Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations RepresentativeWe are sorry to hear about this experience and appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback. If the squirrels are too light to pull the covers fully down over the ports at the lightest setting, try some of these squirrel-deterrent tips to keep them away.
Place feeders at least ten feet away from launching spots, such as trees or decks, and at least five feet above the ground. Use safflower seed (or add it into the mix). It is nutritious and attracts a large variety of birds, but squirrels dislike it. Add cayenne pepper to the seed. It will not affect the birds since they have no sense of smell or taste, but will repel squirrels. Install a baffler above or below the feeder.

Review RateGood customer service!!Ordered several bird feeders & bags of seed. Upon receiving our order, it was severely damaged. We were so disappointed, but not for long! After calling customer service everything was replaced within just a few days. What more could you ask for?
Review RateNot so happyI had this feeder for 3 years and it wore out so I bought a new one at my local bird supply store. The quality has gone downhill in the past 3 yrs--the lid does not fit well. The slightest touch causes it to come loose & let rain into the food. Also, no matter how I adjust the springs the feeding holes are closed off. This is going back to the store. (Yes,to help with squirrel proofing I put a metal cone baffle over the top though I still find that occasional determined fellow hanging off one of the perches).Response From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations RepresentativeThank you for the time taken to provide this feedback. We apologize for this experience and would like the opportunity to learn more.

Review RateLaugh out loud AwsomeOkay, so I am a reformed skeptic! This feeder has provided me with more entertainment value than any backyard addition! Squirrels cannot get seed! And they fall like leaves after trying! My birds are eating - the fat squirrels are loosing weight! It's been a week - and I really need to set up a web cam to watch the invasion attempts from the little rodents!
