Description
Victor® Rat Zapper® Ultra Rat Trap Eliminate your rodent problem quickly and effectively with the Victor® Rat Zapper® Ultra Rat Trap. From set-up and use through cleaning and maintenance, each zap will be a snap thanks to the easy-to-use design. The ultra-sized chamber is ideal for targeting larger rats that invade your property. This humane trap kills rodents using a high-voltage shock and since rats are able to restart their hearts, the shock is applied for 2 minutes to ensure higher kill rates. To get started, simply apply a high protein bait in the provided bait cup, place the trap in a location with high rodent activity and turn it on.

High Voltage Shock
High-Voltage Shock Humanely Kills Rodents The Rat Zapper® Ultra is equipped with smart circuit technology that senses when a rodent enters the trap. Once the rodent is inside, it steps on the metal plates, completing the circuit and the trap delivers a continuous high-voltage shock for 2 minutes to effectively eliminate rat invader. This trap is capable of eliminating up to 60 rats per set of fully charged batteries (4 “D”).
LED Light Alerts With the Victor® Rat Zapper® Ultra Rat Trap, simplifying your pest control routine is a breeze. Each time the trap catches a rat, the light on top of the trap flashes red to indicate a kill. You’ll know when it’s time to empty your trap without having to check manually. Plus, the convenient LED light function will not only notify you of a catch, but it will also alert you when the trap’s battery is running low by rapidly flashing red.

No Touch Cleanup
No-Touch Cleanup With the Rat Zapper® Ultra, cleanup is effortless! Unlike standard rat traps, you don’t have to touch or look at dead rodents. The rat is contained within the kill chamber, which hides it from sight, while the indicator light lets you know when it’s time to empty. After a kill, just tip the trap to discard the dead rodent into the trash without having to touch it.

How to Set the Rat Zapper® Ultra For your convenience, the Victor® Rat Zapper® Ultra Rat Trap is very easy to use. Get your trap setup by following these four simple steps:.
  1. Add Bait - Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, to the back wall of the trap away from the metal plates using a Q-tip or other tool to avoid transferring your scent.
  2. Insert Batteries - Remove the battery cover. Insert 4 “D” batteries into the battery compartment before replacing the cover.
  3. Place the Trap - Place the trap on a flat surface against a wall where you have seen signs of rodent activity. The trap should be placed lengthwise with the entrance nearest to the wall.
  4. Turn On - Activate by flipping the switch to the “ON” position. A green light will blink once to indicate the trap is functioning properly.

Works great By gypsy

While we really don't like having to get rid of living things, when they get into your walls, it becomes a necessity. From the first time we put the traps out, they worked. We have nwt gotten the critters that were in the walls. We actually put the traps outside. We bought plastic tubs with detachable lids and cut a hole in one end to protect them from the weather. They work great.

Preferred by mice and rats By Rat Man

I was having trouble with rats and mice in a metal building until I sealed up a hole. Before the fix, I put out three Rat Zappers and four sticky traps. The first night the Rat Zappers were 3 for 3, while the sticky traps were 0 for 4. Rats and mice definitely prefer the Rat Zappers, and they are a much more humane way to end the rodent problem.

Zapper By Las

A field near my home was recently cleared and rats moved into my garage. I have a cat and dog so didn’t want to use poison. After baiting with dog food the zapper killed two rats in two nights. Well worth the money. Disposal is easy And there is no mess

WASTE OF MONEY!!! By Penny

I'm SORRY I WASTED so MUCH MONEY!!! I bought the three pack, one was put together wrong. I called and customer service was GREAT and sent me a new one. I took a chance, and it was an expensive chance! Did NOT WORK! I put regular rat traps near the Rat Zappers and they got a rat every time, NOTHING in the Rat Zapper! EXPENSIVE LESSON!!! I recommend stick with the tried and true.....SNAP TRAP!

Hello Penny,

We are sorry to hear about this experience. Rodents will go to bait that is out in the open, like what is on a snap trap, before they go to bait that is concealed, like the bait inside this product. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) with any questions.

Works Great When it Works By Disappointed

Bought 3 late in the season last year so only put them out this year 2 weeks ago for the first time. Was amazed the first night we got a rat. Next day a mouse. Second night …. it rained. Brought them in to dry them out … green light didn't come on when we turned them back on. Changed the batteries …. nothing. Since we had only put 2 out we put the same batteries in the unused unit. Light came on fine. So if you think it is going to rain bring them it because apparently they don't like the rain. Very disappointed we are down to one unit and that they wasn't anything noted about the fact they don't like the rain.

Rat Zapper Ultra is the best for Successful and Clean kills By AGGardener

We purchased 3 more Rat Zappers as backups because we don't want to be without them as we live next to an open space with oaks that attract a lot of wildlife to our house. Used them since about 2010 and have killed about 200 rodents--mice, rats, and even some squirrels. We mostly use them outside, checking them daily for kills to quickly dispose of them, and bring the Zappers inside when it rains. We used one in the attic once and caught a rodent within 2 days. We use dog bisquits as bait. These Zappers are the best product we have found for this.

Victor -Highly Recommended. Tips and Tricks By Jan

These Victor e-Traps really work their hearts out.. Highly productive, compared to other traps and poison. We have roof rats and they got in and trashed my kitchen and pantry while we were away for six months. I'm still cleaning. They fouled everything. It's a real nightmare for a housekeeper to come home to a mess like this. I've killed 27 so far in about one month, some from plastic paddle traps but these Victor e-Traps are more productive and consistent because they will get any size rodent that can fit inside. The paddle traps come up empty a lot of times and don't often get the small immature rats. Last summer I killed 50 rats out of the neighborhood. We have a problem with rats here and have for many years, because we live near Hollywood Park race track but this year and last are especially bad. Stables have grain and oat straw, so they harbor rats and mice. Now Hollywood Park has been torn down to make way for the new football stadium and the displaced rats have gone out into the neighborhood, looking for food and shelter. I already own two of these Victor traps and I just bought four more. I tried the Chinese knock offs, but they don't catch anything. I'm going to stick with the Victor brand. Now, here is how I do it.. I chum the rats. In other words, I establish feeding stations in areas that I know they travel in, and I start out by feeding them crushed egg noodles, sometimes sunflower seeds. When they are coming to get fed every day, and the food is all disappearing, I set out the baited traps. I just throw a little bit of seed or crushed egg noodles inside the trap and a little on the outside. Pretty soon they are committing suicide inside these traps. If you set the traps out about an hour before sunset, you will kill one per trap, and then you can reset them and in the morning you will have another in each trap, so you can get two per trap per day that way. The trick is to chum the rats in an area you know they are going to find, before baiting and setting your traps. If you do this, you will catch rats. I found that they always like egg noodles, sunflower seeds or bird seed. I never had any luck with peanut butter or peanuts. Once they are accustomed to a particular kind of food, they will prefer it over something new. They also like anything with oil in it, like salad dressing, cooking oil, etc so maybe chunks of bread with oil, but the sunflower seeds and pasta are neeter. Good luck, and "Death to Rats"!!! BTW, if you chum in your trapping area, when you see that there are still egg noodles and sunflower seeds still on the ground in the morning, it's a pretty good sign that you have killed off that colony completely, at least for that season.

Q&A
Q.the trap definitely works, but getting the red light to quit flashing after the rodent is removed, THERE'S the problem. I checked the D cell batteries with my old Radio Shack tester and they were definitely in the green, but I can't get that stupid light to quit flashing.....
A.

To reset the red light, we recommend turning the trap off, removing the batteries and wiping down the plates with a damp cloth. After the trap has air dried, the trap can be re-baited with a toothpick amount of peanut butter on the back wall (nothing should be touching the metal plates), the batteries can be re-installed and the trap turned back on. The green light should blink once indicating the unit is working correctly.

Q.My Rat Zapper was left in the rain. I have completely dried the trap and replaced the batteries but the green light won't come on. How can i fix it? Thanks
A.

We apologize for this experience. This trap is designed for indoor use only. If the green light does not come on when the trap is turned on, we recommend a new trap.

Q.Can this trap be set in a backyard? I have a rat destroying my garden. Which trap would you recommend. Its a very big rat
A.

The electronic rat and mouse traps are recommended for indoor use only. As an alternative, we suggest trying a Havahart® live animal trap.

FAQs

Rat Zapper Ultra Trap - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I place the trap?

A: Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. Rats are wary critters and they’ll initially avoid anything new in their environment. Good news is we’re smarter than they are! It may take a few days or nights for the first rat to enter your trap but be patient!

Q: How do I bait the trap?/What should I use to bait the trap?

A: To bait the Rat Zapper, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along or on the back wall of the trap. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. We’ve carefully researched dry pet food and found it an excellent lure. Other dried baits (nuts, dehydrated fruit, etc.) can also work well. Goopy Bait Note: Please don’t place moist or goopy bait in your Rat Zapper unless you place it in a plastic container, like a medium plastic bottle cap, and then slide it to the back of your Rat Zapper. (Otherwise you may goop the electronics and/or falsely trip the system.)

Q: What type of batteries do I need?

A: The Rat Zapper Ultra requires 4 “D” alkaline batteries which will provide approximately two years of stand-by power. Use high quality alkaline batteries to ensure the best results.
