From set-up and use through cleaning and maintenance, each zap will be a snap thanks to the easy-to-use design. The ultra-sized chamber is ideal for targeting larger rats that invade your property. High Voltage Shock
High-Voltage Shock Humanely Kills Rodents The Rat Zapper® Ultra is equipped with smart circuit technology that senses when a rodent enters the trap. Once the rodent is inside, it steps on the metal plates, completing the circuit and the trap delivers a continuous high-voltage shock for 2 minutes to effectively eliminate rat invader. This trap is capable of eliminating up to 60 rats per set of fully charged batteries (4 “D”).
LED Light Alerts With the Victor® Rat Zapper® Ultra Rat Trap, simplifying your pest control routine is a breeze. Each time the trap catches a rat, the light on top of the trap flashes red to indicate a kill. You’ll know when it’s time to empty your trap without having to check manually. Plus, the convenient LED light function will not only notify you of a catch, but it will also alert you when the trap’s battery is running low by rapidly flashing red.

No Touch Cleanup
No-Touch Cleanup With the Rat Zapper® Ultra, cleanup is effortless! Unlike standard rat traps, you don’t have to touch or look at dead rodents. The rat is contained within the kill chamber, which hides it from sight, while the indicator light lets you know when it’s time to empty. After a kill, just tip the trap to discard the dead rodent into the trash without having to touch it.

How to Set the Rat Zapper® Ultra For your convenience, the Victor® Rat Zapper® Ultra Rat Trap is very easy to use. Get your trap setup by following these four simple steps:.
  1. Add Bait - Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, to the back wall of the trap away from the metal plates using a Q-tip or other tool to avoid transferring your scent.
  2. Insert Batteries - Remove the battery cover. Insert 4 “D” batteries into the battery compartment before replacing the cover.
  3. Place the Trap - Place the trap on a flat surface against a wall where you have seen signs of rodent activity. The trap should be placed lengthwise with the entrance nearest to the wall.
  4. Turn On - Activate by flipping the switch to the “ON” position. A green light will blink once to indicate the trap is functioning properly.

deader than a doornail By brisbee

if I had rated your product a few days ago, it would have been 1 star. I baited the Zapper with bread and peanut butter, and after a couple of days, the light was blinking, and I said "oh boy" I got one, however the bait was gone and no rat inside. Baited it again and waited a few more days, and this time when the light flashed, it was not a false alarm. It was a big one, quite dead. I am very happy right now, and hope to catch some more.

Works great for 2or 3X By Sid

These traps work not even close to their claims. The consumer should demand these electronic traps be " Repairable " . Send them back to Victor, or somewhere to fix them. Ridiculous, that they say, the E traps can not be fixed. Unacceptable that you would make a product, " so basic " in design, that components can not be swapped out ?. That means yer as bad as the Chinese that make products that don't perform as ad states & end up in the land-fills of our country.

Great product By JacG

Was so happy to get my Rat Zappers. My previous set died a few years ago and decided to try old school traps to save money. When I saw the price for two traps, I immediately ordered them. They arrived in a reasonable amount of time and are working great. So nice not to have clean up and look at a nasty mess. PS, I use cheap Friskies dry food for bait. I drop a few morsels at the back of the trap and then put a short trail leading into the trap and get a kill everytime.

good at killing large rats By mam

We have to use it outside in a protected place, but after gathering and killing a few rats, the plate gets messed up with rat pee and poop, so they no longer work. But if they don't get wet, they work well. Lost count of how many rats we got outside in our rural location. We so far don't have any problems inside the well-sealed house. Would like instructions on how to clean the plate.

Hi there! We do not recommend using these traps outdoors, as the elements could cause the trap to be ineffective. In order to clean the trap, turn the unit to the off position and remove the batteries. Use a hydrogen peroxide topical solution (available at most drug stores) and an old toothbrush to clean the inside of the chamber. Use a wire brush as needed to remove any corrosion, being careful not to be too vigorous. This could accidentally remove all of the protective zinc plating Allow the Rat Zapper® Ultra Rat Trap to air dry completely, and then replace the batteries and turn the unit back on. Thanks for sharing your experience! If you need any additional assistance, give us a call at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867).

cant say good or bad By jerry t

well folks, I bought 3 traps, put in new batteries, baited the traps over two weeks ago. I've had 2 traps set off. red light flashing, bait scattered.no critters to dump. I'll give a three only because i'm optimistic. I think they will do the job. I got no proof. thinking about a screen door and 110 outlet.

Composing the Rat Zapper By Howard

In 2 years it worked once to kill a rat; otherwise it looses bait, and the red light flashes. Maybe we have no rats! Nope, we live on the west coast where rats are common. More effective was buying a metal compose bin.

We wouldn't use anything else By Captjohn

Rat Zappers are great!!! I've used your electronic traps for years and have had nothing but good luck with them. We originally had five which an acquaintance borrowed never to be seen again. Then, this year a pack of the horrid little animals began attacking our tomatoes. We purchased two Zappers and placed them on our fence at night and brought them in, in the morning. We know they are for in-door use but we placed them and brought them in before the temperatures climbed and made sure they would not get wet. As always, they work great - six rats zapped. Yes, they are a little "pricy" but they are so much better than the regular old traps.

Q&A
Q.the trap definitely works, but getting the red light to quit flashing after the rodent is removed, THERE'S the problem. I checked the D cell batteries with my old Radio Shack tester and they were definitely in the green, but I can't get that stupid light to quit flashing.....
A.

To reset the red light, we recommend turning the trap off, removing the batteries and wiping down the plates with a damp cloth. After the trap has air dried, the trap can be re-baited with a toothpick amount of peanut butter on the back wall (nothing should be touching the metal plates), the batteries can be re-installed and the trap turned back on. The green light should blink once indicating the unit is working correctly.

Q.My Rat Zapper was left in the rain. I have completely dried the trap and replaced the batteries but the green light won't come on. How can i fix it? Thanks
A.

We apologize for this experience. This trap is designed for indoor use only. If the green light does not come on when the trap is turned on, we recommend a new trap.

Q.Can this trap be set in a backyard? I have a rat destroying my garden. Which trap would you recommend. Its a very big rat
A.

The electronic rat and mouse traps are recommended for indoor use only. As an alternative, we suggest trying a Havahart® live animal trap.

FAQs

Rat Zapper Ultra Trap - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I place the trap?

A: Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. Rats are wary critters and they’ll initially avoid anything new in their environment. Good news is we’re smarter than they are! It may take a few days or nights for the first rat to enter your trap but be patient!

Q: How do I bait the trap?/What should I use to bait the trap?

A: To bait the Rat Zapper, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along or on the back wall of the trap. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. We’ve carefully researched dry pet food and found it an excellent lure. Other dried baits (nuts, dehydrated fruit, etc.) can also work well. Goopy Bait Note: Please don’t place moist or goopy bait in your Rat Zapper unless you place it in a plastic container, like a medium plastic bottle cap, and then slide it to the back of your Rat Zapper. (Otherwise you may goop the electronics and/or falsely trip the system.)

Q: What type of batteries do I need?

A: The Rat Zapper Ultra requires 4 “D” alkaline batteries which will provide approximately two years of stand-by power. Use high quality alkaline batteries to ensure the best results.
