Rat Zapper Ultra Rat Trap - FREE Rat Tale
Special, Buy 2 Get 1 FREE Offer!
If you're looking to get rid of one rat or several large rats, the Rat Zapper Ultra will deliver years of dependable service. This electronic rat trap is humane, safe, and easy to use. From set-up and use through cleaning and maintenance, each zap will be a snap thanks to clear step-by-step instructions. Once the target enters the Ultra, two plates deliver a total of 8,000 volts for two minutes, ensuring high kill rates. And the "no touch" feature makes disposal a truly hands-off experience. Includes FREE Rat Tale remote indicator light that flashes up to 20 days when the Rat Zapper has a kill.
How It Works
The Rat Zapper Ultra is equipped with smart circuit technology that senses when the rodent enters the trap. Once the rodent is inside, the rat steps onto the metal plates, completing the circuit and the trap delivers a quick, humane 8,000 volt shock. Since rats have the ability to restart their hearts, the shock is applied for 2 minutes ensuring a high kill rate. Each time the trap catches a rat, the light on top of the trap flashes red to indicate a kill. You can "zap" 60 rats with one set of 4 “D” batteries, which makes it a truly effective rat trap.
Easy to Use
How easy are they to use? Very--and that's just one reason why they're so popular--just insert batteries, bait, place, turn it on and relax. First, insert 4 “D” batteries into the battery compartment. Using the entrance, bait the trap along the back wall using a small amount of peanut butter, dry pet food or nuts. Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. Turn on the Rat Zapper Ultra. A red light will blink once indicating the trap is working properly.
The hands-free, "no touch, no view" disposal reduces the "yuck" factor of a common mouse and rat trap. Clean-up is easy and it can be reused indefinitely--your friends and family will want to borrow it for safe, humane rat elimination.
Safe and Sanitary
The Rat Zapper Ultra is safe for use anywhere in the home. Built with high-quality electronics, recycled plastics, and recycled packaging, the Rat Zapper Ultra is both effective and environmentally friendly. It is ideal for attics, garages, basements and sheds. While it's always wise to use caution around children and pets, there is no blood, mess, chemicals, or poisons with the Rat Zapper Ultra.

Review Rate50% successful on two traps purchased
I bought two of these Rat Zappers. One works great, but the other consistently fails to deliver a lethal shock--the animals that trip that one have managed to get away every time.Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
We appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback and apologize for the experience.
For best results, we recommend cleaning the trap after each use, as debris or fluid from a kill could prevent the trap from operating properly. Our traps are covered by a one year replacement warranty. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for additional assistance.

Review RateGreat Product
This trap has been fantastic, I've had it for a little over 3 weeks and have had 4 kills! No problems so far. I also bought 2 of the regular traps and have caught 3 rats in them. I'm very pleased with both products!
Review RateDid not work right out of boc!
This unit was useless; bated it; bate gone; light keeps flashing; this was right out of box. Called the consumer line and all you could do was to repeat to me about the importance of cleaning the trap. I told the person that the unit was brand new! I would not recommend this trap.Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
We are very sorry to hear about this experience and would like the opportunity to make this right.
When fresh, new batteries are used, the trap is clean and is not being used outdoors, the light should not continue to flash. Please give our Consumer Relations Team a call at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) so we can better understand the situation and provide assistance.
Review RateLove the Rat Zapper ULTRA!
This purchase was my second Rat Zapper Ultra, purchased because the first Zapper's performance couldn't be beaten plus we had a new visitor, a rat. Previously, I had used my Zapper in our attic for mice where it worked great! I saw where the rat's path was as I watched him sniffing around but the Victor wood rat snap traps just weren't interesting him. Or else, he was just too smart for these old fashioned traps:) On the first morning, using dog kibble, I caught the rat! Have not seen a rat since but I'm keeping the Zapper baited w/dog kibble or peanut butter in a plastic cup during the day and have caught mice. I am a true believer in the success of the Rat Zapper ULTRA which uses 4 D batteries. Kills quick and humanely. Buying online at Victor is the best price. BTW, to those reviews who had the "catch light" flashing but no critter, I suggest a hint that Susie from the previous company told me. Put out a "welcome mat". Fold a paper towel in quarters, wet it and place it at the entrance of the Zapper, not in it, but just in front of the Zapper. This wets the feet of the mouse, rat, etc. and makes good foot contact as they enter the Zapper to approach the bait. Works every time! So far, I don't need the "welcome mat" but will keep it in mind if I should. The "Rat Tale" is of enormous help when I'm trapping mice in the winter in my attic which requires me to get a stepladder and open the closet hatch door to see if the light is flashing with the kill. With the Rat Tale, I connect it to the Zapper and move the 12' cord with the cute little LED mouse out and down from my attic trap door where it hangs in my closet. When i see those little red LED eyes blinking, I know it's time to get up to the attic with my disposable plastic bag. A great invention and a five star review from a very satisfied customer.
Review RateWorks when others don't.
I was a loyal user of the Victor spring traps. They worked great, until they changed the trigger configuration. For some reason they just don't work as well as the original design. The Zapper did work the first time I put it out. The rat was very large, but it took care of it. I used pepperoni pieces and beer nuts for bait. Very happy with the results! Buying online was the best value.
Review RateThis is the best rat trap I have ever had.
This product works very well. I purchased two large Zappers and I have been able to eliminate several rats and mice. My neighbor recommended the Zapper and I'm very glad that he did! Disposal of the dead rodents is super easy too. The only reason for not rating the product with 5 stars is because the back of the trap should be hinged to allow easy placement of the bait. Peanut butter works great!
Review RateDoesn't work on my rats
I must have some pretty hardy rats. I bought three and set them for four days. In the mornings the food was gone, the red light was flashing but no rats were killed. Useless ....!!!Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
We are sorry to hear about this recent experience and appreciate the feedback regarding this product.
When baiting, we recommend making sure the bait does not get on the metal plates of the trap as this can prevent the proper operation. Our Consumer Relations Team will be glad to provide troubleshooting assistance. We can be reached at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867).

Rat Zapper Ultra Trap - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where do I place the trap?
A: Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. Rats are wary critters and they’ll initially avoid anything new in their environment. Good news is we’re smarter than they are! It may take a few days or nights for the first rat to enter your trap but be patient!
Q: How do I bait the trap?/What should I use to bait the trap?
A: To bait the Rat Zapper, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along or on the back wall of the trap. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. We’ve carefully researched dry pet food and found it an excellent lure. Other dried baits (nuts, dehydrated fruit, etc.) can also work well. Goopy Bait Note: Please don’t place moist or goopy bait in your Rat Zapper unless you place it in a plastic container, like a medium plastic bottle cap, and then slide it to the back of your Rat Zapper. (Otherwise you may goop the electronics and/or falsely trip the system.)
Q: What type of batteries do I need?
A: The Rat Zapper Ultra requires 4 “D” alkaline batteries which will provide approximately two years of stand-by power. Use high quality alkaline batteries to ensure the best results.
