Review RateDoes not always give desired live humane release. Best to monitor and release ASAP.
The poor mouse was virtually dead when I found it in the morning covered in its own excrement. o\Obviously tried to get out all night, stressed out. It came good over the day but died the next day. Felt so bad for causing it such distress. Would of been more humane to kill it outright.Response From WoodstreambrandsPatty : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience and appreciate the feedback.
This trap should be checked often so that the mouse can be released as soon as possible. Mice can die when trapped more than 8 hours.

Works great! Caught 3 this week, but trap must be placed tipped down or the trap won't work. Drop a small ball of cheese or cracker crumbs in the back of the trap and place where you've seen mouse droppings.
Review RateDoesnt work
It is designed to close upon the mouse exiting, his weight tilts it down. Problem is, the weight closes the door as he begins to enter too. Easy for him to back away from it, or it scares him off. Poor design. Poor quality. Wasted my money.Response From WoodstreambrandsLauren : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for the experience and appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback. To lessen the sensitivity of this trap a bit, you can tape a quarter or something of similar weight just before the "V" in "Victor®" on the top of the trap. This should prevent it from triggering as easily until the mouse moves in further and tips it toward the back, releasing the door.

Review RateJust the Thing...Effective, east to use llive trap.
Review RateA really great humane trapI've had two of these traps that are probably over 20 years old. When needed, they always function; no metal parts to rust, easy to thoroughly clean… and they work. Release is easy, and it's possible to actually toss the mouse (several yards!) out of the trap in one quick movement. Even after sitting for years, when needed they will work. Only caveat I've found is that they work much better if placed on a hard, smooth (level) surface.
Review RateLive TrapI've had a lot of mice in my Garage. I caught and released 8 in the past week. I set them free outside of town and haven' had any more in the traps. I bought them because there was one in my Mothers estate sale. It worked so well, that I needed more than one.
Review RateGreat mouse feederI tried several times with different kinds of bait and the bait was always gone and no mice. I sure seems like it should work though.Response From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations RepresentativeThis trap uses gravity to close and lock the door once a mouse enters. We apologize that this was not your experience and would like the opportunity to offer further assistance.

Review RateWorks perfectly!I bought these several months ago when mice found a way into my house. They're a bit tricky to set because they're so sensitive, but once you get the hang of it, they're perfect. I'm glad to have found them because I hate killing anything. I simply put a dab of peanut butter way back in the back of the trap, set it down in a quiet corner, and soon had all the mice caught. I took them out to an old barn and let them go, still alive.
Review RateWASTE OF MONEY!!!ABSOLUTE JUNK AND VERY ANNOYED. MICE TOUCH THEM AND THE DOOR CLOSES BEFORE THEY CAN GO INSIDE. I THREW THEM OUT.Response From WoodstreambrandsLauren : Consumer Relations RepresentativeThank you for taking the time to share this feedback. At Victor®, we aim to provide our customers with high-quality and reliable products. We regret that this trap did not meet those expectations and apologize for this experience.

Review Rateworked at firstThis product worked well for me at first. But when months later I discovered more mice I set the traps out again and it didn't catch anymoreResponse From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations RepresentativeWhen testing the trap on its own, does the door lock securely when shut? If so, but mice are not going into the trap, we recommend moving the trap to a new location. For best results, the trap should be placed along a wall where rodent activity has been detected. If two traps can be placed end to end, this will allow mice to be caught no matter which direction they are traveling.

Victor® Live Traps - Expert Tips
Location, Location, Location!
The most important rule for the effective use of traps is good trap placement location based on thorough inspections to determine the high-activity areas of rodents.
Number of Traps
The most common trapping mistake is using of too few traps. For only a couple of mice, a dozen traps are not too many. For severe mouse infestations, traps should be placed close together in double sets in areas of high activity.
Importance of the First Night
Statistics show that more mice are trapped on the first night than on any other night.
Offer Multiple Bait Choices
When many rodents are involved, different types of baits should be used. Individuals in a rodent population forage for different types of food.
Victor® Glue Traps - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many of mice are born at once? How do I know that I've trapped them all?
A: It’s practically impossible to tell when you've trapped them all. You should continue to trap as long as you see mice or notice signs of activity. The most apparent sign of an infestation is fresh droppings.
Q: What is the most common mistake in trapping?
A: The true number of rodents present is underestimated. As a result, not enough traps are used. Although you have killed a few rodents, the remainder of the population continues to multiply.
