Review RateMouse search and rescue
Mice either feast on the peanut butter on the trap and go on their merry way or when we have caught a mouse it's still alive flipping around stuck in the trap. The last one ended up across our dining room. We had to do a search and rescue for it. We set it free and hopped away like nothing happened. We did catch/kill one but none since. Very disappointed in this product. If I can locate the receipt I'll call customer service. In the 21st century it shouldn't be this hard to kill a mouse.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We are very sorry for this experience and appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback. The information has been shared with our Product Managers for further review.
When baiting the trap, it is important to use only a small, pea size amount of bait. We have found that peanut butter, or something high in protein (such as a hazelnut spread or chocolate) works well. Placement of the trap is also very important. We recommend placing the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the metal pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.

Review Rate2 at once is pretty good product, might have been the cheese
Just want you to know I caught 2 mice in 1 trap, I have pictures if you would like. Iv been using your traps all my life but 2 at once is a first.
Review Rate5 star
Excellent. A little hard to set. Very sensitive. We use a little bread to bait. About 1/4 of the time they eat the bait without springing the guillotine, but still very sensitive. You don't wanna get ur neck in there because it's "100%" when you (da cute little creatures) do....Death Penalty 101. I highly recommend. I think those who complain are doing something wrong or getting frustrated in setting them, which takes a little practice.
Review Ratepoor quality

Review RateGreat trap
Use dental floss loosely around the trip and the mice catch it with there teeth.
Review RateGood traps
We have caught hundreds of rats with these great traps in the last 10 years. You definitely need to bait it and place it properly. We have a 50% catch rate. You just need to keep trying, and find the place they take the bait and keep placing in the same spots. We've saved thousands on rat control using these traps.
Review RateThey do not work
I bought these at Home Depot and they do not work. As instructed in the "answers" to negative/ineffective reviews for this product, I did everything perfectly: I put a "pea-sized" dab of peanut butter on the bait pedal.....and the mice just lick-off the peanut butter, the snap/kill bar is never activated. The mechanism that springs the snap/kill bar is not sensitive-enough. This has happened eight separate nights. Do not waste your money on these traps.....I called Home Depot and they said once used, they cannot take them back....which I can appreciate/understand. A complete waste of money.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateFive snaps but no catches yet
We have had five traps snap now with nothing caught. Using peanut butter. Are we doing something wrong? Turds looks mouse size but could we be dealing with something bigger that this trap doesn't kill? Thx. Advice welcome.Response From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations Representative
What is occurring with the traps? Is the bait being taken without a catch, or is the bait not attracting any critters?

Review RateThe worst trap ever!!!
The worst trap ever!!! Impossible to set.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
To set the trap, swing the arm bar over the kill bar and latch the bent end of the arm bar into the notch on the metal pedal. Slowly release pressure from the kill bar until the arm bar has fully engaged and holds the kill bar securely.

A: Individuals in a rodent population search for different types of food. For mice, anything high in protein like peanut butter, chocolate or hazelnut spread is a great option. A: The Victor® Metal Pedal Mouse Trap can be reused or disposed of. It is personal preference. Check the traps frequently to ensure the trap is emptied as soon as the mouse is captured and the traps will last longer.
