Victor® Black Box Gopher Trap
When you see gopher holes popping up in your yard, you'll want to have one of these on hand. The Victor® Black Box Gopher Trap effectively kills gophers without the use of chemicals or poisons. The choker loop-style trap features weather-resistant plastic and galvanized steel construction for superior strength and durability.
Additionally, each trap is easy to use thanks to its EASY-SET® design. The trap come fully assembled and with illustrated operating instructions on setting and placement. As the most effective gopher trap on the market, you can rest assured that your yard is safe from the damaging effects of gophers.
Gopher trapping can be done at any time of year, but generally is easiest and most effective during Spring & Fall. Once gopher activity is detected it is important to move quickly as pregnant females can be caught before giving birth to her family.
Traps are most effective when properly placed in the gopher tunnel to snare the unsuspecting gopher in the spring-triggered loop. The hole should be covered up with dirt so that it appears as if the trap is part of the runway.
When used correctly, traps produce a catch within 48 hours. It is best to move the trap to another location in the runway if you do not catch a gopher in this timeframe.

Review RateIt Really Works!
I’ve been fighting gophers in my backlot for 15 yrs. I never was successful with the classic traps, maybe catching one or two over all those years. With a single black box I caught one a day and am now gopher free. Watch the various YouTube videos to ensure correct setting. Also it does have a bigger footprint, requiring a larger hole. I could see it being an issue in more sensitive areas. But the thing really works.
Review RateWorks every time
Been using these for a couple of years. I have a big vegetable garden in a rural area. I set the trap in the fall and catch the female in a few hours. Then I have no trouble until the next fall when a new female moves in. I see the new digging, set the trap and problem solved. Easy to set.
Review RateVery good traps!
The traps work excellent. I usually catch gophers in as little as 5 minutes when I find an active tunnel. Dig out and drop the trap in the tunnel, add a piece of carrot as bait through the hole at the back of the trap and BAM!
Trap isn’t trip very easily. Mole dug around it and in the dirt pile but never set of the trap. Moved it to another mount, same thing signs of mole all around it but neither of the two traps went off! So far very disappointed!Response From WoodstreambrandsKathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateScore 1 for the Hooman
The LBB, or Little Black Box, is a great modern twist on a medieval torture device, for gophers. This is my #1 trap. I own 6 of these now, one was dragged off by a hawk & another pulled INTO a burrow. If set correctly, you'll get results in under 24hrs. 9x out of 10, I do, if not, move it. The way the trap is designed, they die fast. They never knew what got 'em. I've never had one survive, partially caught, or any other misshap. KAZAAM, end of story. The device is strong, but I can easily set it. I've arthritis in both hands, & wimpy girl strength, being a lanky, skinny girl & all, & I've no problems. One word of caution, MARK IT!! Put a garden flag or anything visible so you can find it. Sometimes the vile evil-doers bury it & you can spend time hunting for it. And, once sprung & they're dead, pretty easy to remove. I've only had to touch 1 in the many years I've used them, & it was a really large gopher.

Review RateI love the black boxes
I live near a vacant lot that the city had been working on to create a neighborhood park. Needless to say, the gophers in the vacant lot scattered throughout the area. When they reached my front yard they had holes in my flower beds as well as the lawn. It was clear there was more than one gopher. I already had one Black Box that that I had used before and each time it worked in 1 or 2 days when I placed it in the ground. So I ordered two more black boxes. I set the traps and checked them two days later. Two of the three traps eliminated two gophers. If there were more than two gophers, the rest left my yard. The black boxes have worked quickly every time I have used them. I had used the "old time" wire traps when I bought my house 40 years ago and they never worked. I found the black box when I visited my local hardware store. The clerk said that they were much better than the wire traps so I decided to try one. I must say that I was very pleasantly surpriesed that the black box worked, and how fast it worked. In the ensuing years, each time I used the black box, it has never failed to erase the problem.
Review RateWorked like a charm
I've used the castor granules in the past, but it didn't deter these gophers. Bought one of these traps and caught one within an hour. I may be in the market for a few more.

Gophers covered it up with new dirt. Have set out several and not caught any.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We recommend placing this whole trap in the gopher tunnel. One trap should be used on either side of the tunnel opening. There is a hole in the back of the trap that the gopher will be able to see sunlight through. When the animal comes towards the light to repair the hole, it will get caught in the trap. Having a trap on either side of the entrance ensures the animal is caught, regardless of what side of the tunnel it is in.

Review RateBest trap on the market
My son is good at digging and finding where the tunnel bifurcates to get proper placement of the Black Box. That gives a successful catch almost every time. Sure, sometimes the sneaky animal will back fill. The recent problem we have is lazy foxes. Instead of skillfully catching the pests for us, they dig up the full trap and take off with it (which is why i just ordered more) ! Cute ! I love that these traps can accomplish what i need without using poisons.

Gophers excavate soil from their tunnels, creating large, horseshoe-shaped mounds. Gopher mounds are typically larger than Mole hills with the entrance hole at an angle to the ground surface.
