Review RateGreat trap, needed more.
We already had one Tin Cat trap, and were very satisfied with it's performance when baited with peanut butter (the very finest quality organic, of course). Apparently word got out, because we've had an increased number of mice coming in this winter. So we ordered more traps (with an extra for a friend) to put in diiferent locations; we expect these to be equally effective. Sturdy, and easy-to-clean!
Review RateMice escape
I used the Tin Cat successfully for a few weeks, but now the mice eat the bait and escape. The flap over the exit seems to have lost it's springiness. I wonder if there is some adjustment or repair that can be madeResponse From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateMice are outsmarting the Tin Cat
Sadly, while my Tin Cat is functioning properly, the mice are eating the bait and escaping. I've had good success with the trap in the past, but no longer. I can only conclude the mice are simply flipping the see-saw ramp back down and leaving the way they came in. Seems a shame that I'm going to now have to use lethal traps to defeat such intelligent and resourceful creatures. I'm giving the Tin Cat two stars only because it initially worked so well. Re: the "glue traps inside the Tin Cat" solution offered above -- I'm supposed to pour olive oil over a bunch of trapped mice in hope that will free them? Hardly a practical plan.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateWorks great for me!
I have been using these traps and the ones with the window with mouse bait meal and have had success.on a consistent basis. I use the traps along the sides of the house and around the shop, trying to prevent mice from chewing on the wiring in trucks and equipment. I would think that eventually the mouse population would decrease, but the traps are still catching them!
Review RateGreat, works well
so far so good, seem to catch up to 3 to 4 mice at a time. so far the best trap i have purchased
I have used these traps for several years now. I have never had any problems with them. I usually buy the glue boards to put in them. But I have used them without the glue boards and had good results also. I have caught as many as three or four mice at one time. They work!
Review Ratenot working
Tin Cat didn't work at all. Not one bit of the peanut butter bait was missing.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience. For best results, we recommend placing this trap along the wall where rodent activity has been seen.

Review RateWorked at first
Seemed to work at first, then the mice were able to escape. Not sure how or why this happened.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience. To increase the effectiveness of the trap, we recommend using our pre-baited Victor® Glue Boards (Model BM309), which slide easily into the trap. The stickiness of the glue makes escape nearly impossible, but they can still be set free afterward by simply applying olive oil to the glue tray.

Review Rateno bueno
I like the concept, but these did not work at all. Well, it did attract a lot of ants inside, just no mice. I have now used them to hold ant poison and it seems to be killing ants....its just a really expensive way to kill ants.Response From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations Representative
Mice do not care for open areas and will most often travel along walls or other objects. For best results, we recommend placing these traps against walls where rodent activity has been seen. If the typical bait of peanut butter is not working to lure them in, other baits such as beef jerky, gum drops or even marshmallows are good options.

Review RateChoose your Bait carefully
The single kernels of field corn and small seed I'd used as bait were getting underneath the release, keeping it cracked open enough to allow the mouse to squeeze out. For the past 48 hours I baited with 1/2 ear sweetcorn. I have NEVER had such success. I knew I had a few, but I've released near a dozen now. I've been using these traps for a few years now.
