I also bought this product. SAME PROBLEMS: can't read during the day. SO since this us an OBVIOUS PROBLEM, why doesn't ZAREBA fix the issue????
Review RatePOOR product
Used one time and it quit working. Tried different sections of fence closer to charger and still nothing. The first and only time it worked it showed 7000v and that was it.Response From WoodstreambrandsJennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateWorks great. Added black electricians tape to improve visibility.
Works great. We put black electrician's tape all over it except where the lights shine, and that fixed the problem of not being able to see the lights in bright sunlight. I broke the cable on mine by pulling the probe out of the ground using the wire instead of pulling on the probe handle. My bad.
Review Rateextremely poor quality
Too busy to wait for customer service any longer. Used item 4 times in less than 4 months, then it failed. Will attempt to return to Tractor Supply, but they aren't customer friendly without retaining sales slip (who can keep all these sales slips, anyway).Response From WoodstreambrandsLauren : Consumer Relations Representative
When using this tester, it is important that is done in a shady location as bright sunlight may cause the orange indicator lights to be difficult to read.

Review RateIt works, if you can see itWorks as advertised, but it is all but impossible to read in daylight. They definitely need to find a way to improve readability and still keep it inexpensive.Response From WoodstreambrandsTara : Consumer Relations RepresentativeWe apologize for this experience and appreciate the feedback. If it's really bright outside, it may need to be shaded to see the amber indicator light.

Review RateNot Much GoodI bought this a bit more than a year ago to use with my portable electric fence that I use wth my horse when we go trail riding. I haven't used it more than ten times, worked great and then nothing. I kept it in it's little protective plastic case and then it was stored in a canvas bag with my fence charger. It was well taken care of. I am so disappointed in this item. I know it wasn't expensive but still you would think that the thing would last longer than this. I am not fond of testing the strength of the charge by using a blade of grass. If I don't get some answers and service on why this thing died then I will never purchase from this company again.Response From WoodstreambrandsTara : Consumer Relations RepresentativeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we apologize for this experience.
This is very unusual for the tester to no longer be working only after being used a few times. If its very bright outside, the tester may need to be shaded in order to see the amber lights. This testers is backed by a one year warranty.

Review RateBlinking lights?I have been using this tester. Was working fine, Having issues finding my fence problem? The tester is blinking continuos
Review RateBarely usable...This is a very inexpensive voltage tester and one shouldn't expect to get much benefit from it. Can not easily read it during daylight hours and it doesn't provide exact voltage going through your fence. I ended up buying Zareba's model DEFT-Z for about $50, possibly less (can't remember), at Tractor Supply and am very pleased with it.Response From WoodstreambrandsSusan : Consumer Relations RepresentativeThis tester is designed to give an approximate range regarding the voltage being carried along the fence line. We apologize that the display was hard to read in the sunlight and appreciate the time taken to share this feedback.
