Dynatrap® 1 Acre XL Mosquito Trap - Black

If you have an extra-large mosquito problem, the Dynatrap XL Mosquito Trap delivers several layers of powerful protection. First, a UV fluorescent bulb generates a warm light, attracting mosquitoes. Then, a powerful yet whisper-quiet vacuum fan sucks them into the retaining cage where they dehydrate and die. Empty the retaining cage every 1-2 weeks and replace the UV Bulb every 4 months or 3,000 hours

Durable, all-weather construction for dependable protection. The Dynatrap XL Mosquito Trap provides up to 4000 meters squared of effective coverage without the use of zapping, making it the ideal choice for your home. To maximize your coverage, the trap can be placed on a flat surface or hung from a hook.

While I loved this device and have had it for several years the lights didn't work this year and you can't buy a replacement ballast. Dynatrap expects you to throw out your device and buy a brand new one. I hate waste and this is a terrible strategy and creates Un necessary waste not to mention another $350 bucks if want a new one.

Do not recommend buying this unit at HOME HARDWARE stores

After waiting for this to arrive - they shipped a faulty unit. Lights do not function. Ordinarily the place I bought the unit from would exchange it. Unfortunately in Canada, Home Hardware customers are pushed to dynatrap customer service. The service is ok - but i now have to wait another 7-10 business days for a new unit. I need it right now and could have driven to pick one up. If you sell someone a faulty unit- you should resolve issue asap. There is no reason in 2025 something takes 7-10 business days unless its coming from china.

I live on acreage and the only thing I can say is “ I wish I’d known about this zapper at the beginning of the season instead of 1/2 way thru!!” An amazing product!

A dream.

This trap, when placed as instructed, with some additional attractants (octenol), traps around 50 mosquitos a day for me. My only issue is that it cannot keep up with what my forest generates and so I needed to buy a few more.

Q&A

Will the DynaTrap Mosquito Trap work more effectively with an Octenal Attractant? If so, which one? I live in Vernon, BC. Where would the Attractant be placed on the Trap?
Question by: Shelley on Jun 7, 2025, 11:25 AM
Thank you for your question regarding the use of attractants with your DynaTrap Mosquito Trap.

At this time, we only carry one attractant called Atrakta™, which is specially designed to work with DynaTrap devices. And yes this goes on the basket.
