Ants can be a problem anywhere – in the home, at work and everywhere in between. To kill common household ants, place TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits in areas where they attract foraging ants that take the bait back to the nest. As the bait circulates through the colony, it kills the ants you see and the ones you don’t. The new and improved snap-off tab makes the stations easy to use. Plus, the closed bait stations prevent the bait from drying out to provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Note: complete control may take up to two weeks. How Liquid Ant Bait Works Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet, sugary liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.
Meanwhile, the active ingredient, Borax, is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.Where to Place Ant Baits
Place TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits near trails and other locations where ants are numerous. It’s also a good idea to place bait stations anywhere ants may try to enter your home. The compact size of the bait stations makes them perfect for placement along baseboards, in corners, on counters, under and behind appliances, and on windowsills. The more bait placements, the better!Easy-Open Tab Each TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait station is sealed so the bait stays fresh until you’re ready to use them. To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab. This opens up the station and allows ants to access the bait. Place the entire station on a flat surface, keeping the ant bait inside the station.
Note: Some earlier versions of TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait required it to be opened by scissors. The new snap-off tab eliminates this method of opening, but some earlier versions may still be sold while supplies last. How to Use Liquid Ant Baits
TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits are very easy to use. Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere. Do not place bait where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the bait stations.

Review RateGreat when it's in stock
After over 10 years dealing with ants these were the only ones that worked on our small red sugar ants though it took a few weeks to a month to see a difference. I will give you my left kidney if you put these back in stock. I can't believe these aren't in stock.
Review RateThese really do workIt seems like ants are attracted to these liquid baits far more than to the old circular metal ones. About 3-4 days after putting them out, there were tons of ants going in and out of the traps, I couldn't believe it. After about two weeks the problem cleared up and I've only seen one ant in the past two days.
My only complaint is that you can't "twist" the plastic end off to open the trap like the instructions say. There's no perforated line or anything - you need a good pair of scissors. Then the end piece flies off when cut and there is the potential for the poison to touch another surface. A minor gripe, though. Overall a great product.
I'd definitely buy these again.
Review RateGreatThese traps took care of the problem

Review RateBest Product
Big infestation of ants that found there way into our house. At The entry point there was a trail of hundreds of better. The regular any traps in the small tins were completely ignored. I then put down the Terro traps and they were an immediate hit with the ants. I couldn't believe the decrease even within 24 hours. Great product.
Review RateNo more ants - thank-you Terro!
In June we had a terrible problem with ants in our basement. At first I crushed what I saw but could not keep up with the number of ants. I called a local pest control and asked about the Terro product. Their reply was very positive, indicating that they could apply a stronger (and much more costly) product if Terro did not do the job. I put out four of the indoor Terro ant baits and four of the outdoor Terro ant baits matching locations to where the ants were more prevalent. There was no change for about a week and then the numbers started to drop off and there were some dead ants around the indoor baits. After another week all I saw was a very occasional live ant. It is now more that a month and I am pleased to say NO ANTS. So this morning I have picked up the indoor baits. The only issue is that that the ants tracked the sticky juice from the baits in trails along the floor below the baseboards. It is all on a tile floors so cleaning up the trails won't be a problem.
Review RateWorks great
I bought these for our condominium. Some units were complained seeing pharaoh ants. After our superintendent placed these in each unit, the ants all disappeared after a couple of weeks. No more complaints. We saved a lot of money by not having to hire a contractor to do the job, as they are just basically do the same thing, just paying the wages for someone to put these down.
- All About
There are more than 10,000 known species of ants living throughout the world. Like other insects, they have six legs; each with three joints. Ants have large heads with compound eyes, elbowed antennae and powerful jaws. Ants are social insects that live in structured nest communities throughout the world. The species of ant determines whether they live underground, in mounds built at ground level, in wood structures or in plants or trees.
Why are ants always invading my kitchen, bathroom and laundry areas?
Ants are attracted to food, water and shelter. Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms provide at least two of these conditions, making it an ideal haven for ants to congregate.
What’s the difference between liquid and gel ant baits?
It’s a little known fact that adult worker ants cannot digest solid food (bait). Their anatomy is designed for transporting and digesting liquids only. Solid foods must be carried back to the colony for additional processing by the larvae stage. Liquid baits exploit this unique physiology by making it easy for ants to transport the liquid bait back to the rest of the colony, including the queen, larvae and other workers.
How long does it take to eliminate an ant colony with TERRO Liquid Ant Bait?
Remember, this is a BAIT ant control product and will initially attract a lot of ants. The ants consume large quantities of the bait and then return to the nest and share it with the rest of the colony, eventually eliminating the entire colony. This process can take from just a couple days to several weeks, depending on the size of the colony. Each ant that consumes the bait will die within 24 - 48 hours. It is important to leave the bait as undisturbed as possible while the ants are actively feeding on it. You should replace it only if it becomes inaccessible to the ants, or empty.
