Description

Victor® TIN CAT® Mouse Trap - 1 Trap

The Victor® TIN CAT® Mouse Trap is a low-profile metal trap that can be used inside or outside your home, apartment or business. Each trap can catch up to 30 mice at a time and is reusable. These live traps contain no poisons and do not kill the mice – they can be used around food, water, children and pets.

Simple 3-Step Method

  1. Bait – One dab of peanut butter is all you need.
  2. Place – Setting the trap is as easy as placing it down where mice have previously been spotted.
  3. Release – When the trap is full, follow your local authority’s guidelines for releasing captured animals into the wild. You can reuse your trap as many times as you need.

Large Capacity for Maximum Effectiveness

Amazingly, each TIN CAT® trap has the capacity to catch and contain up to 30 mice, reducing time spent emptying your trap and maximizing the amount of mice you can capture. Position the trap around your property anywhere mice have been spotted.

Convenient Indoor and Outdoor Design

With its slim, low-profile design, TIN CAT® mice traps can be placed inconspicuously throughout your home, especially in drop ceilings, raised floors and underneath furniture. The trap can also be used outside your home, business or apartment to keep rodent intruders from making their way inside.

No-Touch, Non-Lethal Rodent Solution

Are you grossed out by the sight of a dead mouse? Then you’ll appreciate that the TIN CAT® doesn’t require you to touch or even kill the mouse. When the secured metal trap is full, simply release your unwanted guests back into the wild, being sure to follow any local guidelines.

Prevent Escapes with a Simple Upgrade

To increase the effectiveness and convenience of the trap, use our pre-baited Victor Glue Boards (model BM309), which slide easily into the trap. The stickiness of the glue makes escape nearly impossible, but you can set them free afterward by simply applying olive oil. Note that adding the glue trap may require added attention on your part to ensure that the opening does not become blocked by mice that become stuck upon entering.

Victor® – Innovative Rodent Control Solutions from the Company You’ve Trusted for Over 115 Years.

Mice are outsmarting the Tin Cat By Bob Jones

Sadly, while my Tin Cat is functioning properly, the mice are eating the bait and escaping. I've had good success with the trap in the past, but no longer. I can only conclude the mice are simply flipping the see-saw ramp back down and leaving the way they came in. Seems a shame that I'm going to now have to use lethal traps to defeat such intelligent and resourceful creatures. I'm giving the Tin Cat two stars only because it initially worked so well. Re: the "glue traps inside the Tin Cat" solution offered above -- I'm supposed to pour olive oil over a bunch of trapped mice in hope that will free them? Hardly a practical plan.

Works great for me! By Syd

I have been using these traps and the ones with the window with mouse bait meal and have had success.on a consistent basis. I use the traps along the sides of the house and around the shop, trying to prevent mice from chewing on the wiring in trucks and equipment. I would think that eventually the mouse population would decrease, but the traps are still catching them!

Mousetraps By Mimi

I have used these traps for several years now. I have never had any problems with them. I usually buy the glue boards to put in them. But I have used them without the glue boards and had good results also. I have caught as many as three or four mice at one time. They work!

not working By dfwguy

Tin Cat didn't work at all. Not one bit of the peanut butter bait was missing.

Worked at first By Deanna

Seemed to work at first, then the mice were able to escape. Not sure how or why this happened.

We apologize for this experience. To increase the effectiveness of the trap, we recommend using our pre-baited Victor® Glue Boards (Model BM309), which slide easily into the trap. The stickiness of the glue makes escape nearly impossible, but they can still be set free afterward by simply applying olive oil to the glue tray.

no bueno By KP

I like the concept, but these did not work at all. Well, it did attract a lot of ants inside, just no mice. I have now used them to hold ant poison and it seems to be killing ants....its just a really expensive way to kill ants.

Mice do not care for open areas and will most often travel along walls or other objects.  For best results, we recommend placing these traps against walls where rodent activity has been seen.  If the typical bait of peanut butter is not working to lure them in, other baits such as beef jerky, gum drops or even marshmallows are good options.

We apologize for this experience and hope this information is helpful.  Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) with any additional questions.

Choose your Bait carefully By Ma Deuce

The single kernels of field corn and small seed I'd used as bait were getting underneath the release, keeping it cracked open enough to allow the mouse to squeeze out. For the past 48 hours I baited with 1/2 ear sweetcorn. I have NEVER had such success. I knew I had a few, but I've released near a dozen now. I've been using these traps for a few years now.

The mice always get out!!!! Waste of money

We apologize for this experience and will be glad to help.

After the mouse enters the trap, the see-saw type entrances should flip back to the resting position which will prevent the mice from escaping. This trap is covered by a one year replacement warranty.  Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) so we can learn more and provide assistance.

Simple and they work By C.C.

Victor Tin Cats just work. They catch the mice, and then I take them to the woods or a meadow some miles away. No more mice damage to vehicles, soft goods, or food in garage and/or shop.

FAQs

Victor®  Live Traps - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many of mice are born at once? How do I know that I've trapped them all?

A: It’s practically impossible to tell when you've trapped them all. You should continue to trap as long as you see mice or notice signs of activity. The most apparent sign of an infestation is fresh droppings.

Q: What is the most common mistake in trapping?

A: The true number of rodents present is underestimated. As a result, not enough traps are used. Although you have killed a few rodents, the remainder of the population continues to multiply.
