Description

Victor® TIN CAT® Mouse Trap - 1 Trap

The Victor® TIN CAT® Mouse Trap is a low-profile metal trap that can be used inside or outside your home, apartment or business. Each trap can catch up to 30 mice at a time and is reusable. These live traps contain no poisons and do not kill the mice – they can be used around food, water, children and pets.

Simple 3-Step Method

  1. Bait – One dab of peanut butter is all you need.
  2. Place – Setting the trap is as easy as placing it down where mice have previously been spotted.
  3. Release – When the trap is full, follow your local authority’s guidelines for releasing captured animals into the wild. You can reuse your trap as many times as you need.

Large Capacity for Maximum Effectiveness

Amazingly, each TIN CAT® trap has the capacity to catch and contain up to 30 mice, reducing time spent emptying your trap and maximizing the amount of mice you can capture. Position the trap around your property anywhere mice have been spotted.

Convenient Indoor and Outdoor Design

With its slim, low-profile design, TIN CAT® mice traps can be placed inconspicuously throughout your home, especially in drop ceilings, raised floors and underneath furniture. The trap can also be used outside your home, business or apartment to keep rodent intruders from making their way inside.

No-Touch, Non-Lethal Rodent Solution

Are you grossed out by the sight of a dead mouse? Then you’ll appreciate that the TIN CAT® doesn’t require you to touch or even kill the mouse. When the secured metal trap is full, simply release your unwanted guests back into the wild, being sure to follow any local guidelines.

Prevent Escapes with a Simple Upgrade

To increase the effectiveness and convenience of the trap, use our pre-baited Victor Glue Boards (model BM309), which slide easily into the trap. The stickiness of the glue makes escape nearly impossible, but you can set them free afterward by simply applying olive oil. Note that adding the glue trap may require added attention on your part to ensure that the opening does not become blocked by mice that become stuck upon entering.

Victor® – Innovative Rodent Control Solutions from the Company You’ve Trusted for Over 115 Years.

Tin Cat is Kind, Compassionate and Effective! By Blue Rat

I had a family of mice living inside of my piano. The first night Tin Cat® caught all 8 mice. I then felt better letting them go in a strange place knowing they had friends with them.

Used to work, does not work now. By Kiki

I used a tin cat successfully for about 15 years, catching 1, 2, and even 3 mice at a time. A mouse would enter our house, then another, then we would have babies and I'd have to catch about 12 mice over the next few weeks. That was fine. Then mice started entering, eating, shitting, and leaving the trap. I concluded that the trap was old and corroded and I bought a new one, plus tried three other models from the local hardware. But I have Super Mice! They enter, eat, and leave all these traps. Either they are pulling them open with their little hands or they are working in teams, with an outside mouse helping the inside mouse out! Now I am trying the noise machine and the peppermint with so far no success.

Hello Kiki,

Thank you for providing this feedback! We are very sorry for this experience. How often is the trap monitored? We recommend checking it daily and releasing the mice that are trapped. If they remain in the trap for too long, they will quickly become anxious and go to extreme measures to escape.

Our Consumer Relations Team is happy to provide additional assistance. Please feel free to contact us at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867).

Tin Cat works better than real cats! By KarenH

I have five cats and for 6 my baths there’s been a little field mouse under my stove. The only cat even remotely interested in catching it is my extremely geriatric 16 year old cat. And he just doesn’t have the reflexes any more—even when he and the mouse were in the counter together. So I bought the Tin Cat trap and caught the little guy in less than 15 hours. Mouse has been relocated to a park and ride next to a vacant lot five miles away and I will keep fresh bait in the trap for the next week or so just to be sure. THANK YOU!!!

A great feeding station for mice; they can relax and dine without worrying about the cat By Frosty

I purchased one of these traps at TSC. It is essentially useless. Checking it 2 days later, I found mouse droppings but no bait or mice. I am not interested in an upsell to purchase a glue board for something that does not work in the first place. If the glue board is required to make it effective, it should be included.

Very efficient By Marty C.

These tins are extremely effective. I was hearing a mouse running over the suspended ceiling in the basement at night, so I put a tin there with peanut butter. Next morning, two mice were patiently waiting inside it. After searching, we found that they were coming from the attic, so I placed a tin there as well. Next morning, three mice were waiting inside it. Since then, no more mice! I'm very satisfied with this product!

Great trap, needed more. By What's it to you?

We already had one Tin Cat trap, and were very satisfied with it's performance when baited with peanut butter (the very finest quality organic, of course). Apparently word got out, because we've had an increased number of mice coming in this winter. So we ordered more traps (with an extra for a friend) to put in diiferent locations; we expect these to be equally effective. Sturdy, and easy-to-clean!

Mice escape By TGD

I used the Tin Cat successfully for a few weeks, but now the mice eat the bait and escape. The flap over the exit seems to have lost it's springiness. I wonder if there is some adjustment or repair that can be made

Mice are outsmarting the Tin Cat By Bob Jones

Sadly, while my Tin Cat is functioning properly, the mice are eating the bait and escaping. I've had good success with the trap in the past, but no longer. I can only conclude the mice are simply flipping the see-saw ramp back down and leaving the way they came in. Seems a shame that I'm going to now have to use lethal traps to defeat such intelligent and resourceful creatures. I'm giving the Tin Cat two stars only because it initially worked so well. Re: the "glue traps inside the Tin Cat" solution offered above -- I'm supposed to pour olive oil over a bunch of trapped mice in hope that will free them? Hardly a practical plan.

Works great for me! By Syd

I have been using these traps and the ones with the window with mouse bait meal and have had success.on a consistent basis. I use the traps along the sides of the house and around the shop, trying to prevent mice from chewing on the wiring in trucks and equipment. I would think that eventually the mouse population would decrease, but the traps are still catching them!

FAQs

Victor®  Live Traps - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many of mice are born at once? How do I know that I've trapped them all?

A: It’s practically impossible to tell when you've trapped them all. You should continue to trap as long as you see mice or notice signs of activity. The most apparent sign of an infestation is fresh droppings.

Q: What is the most common mistake in trapping?

A: The true number of rodents present is underestimated. As a result, not enough traps are used. Although you have killed a few rodents, the remainder of the population continues to multiply.
