TERRO^® Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes stop the problem at the source. The stakes target ants outdoors before they make their way into your home. The slow killing poison give the ants the time to transport the bait back to their colony, eliminating all worker ants and the queen. The bait attracts and kills all common household ants.

How to Use

TERRO^® Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes come pre-filled and ready-to-use. Simply place the stakes in outdoor areas where you see traces of ants, break off the activation tab, and let the bait work its magic. No tools are needed to push the stake in the ground, just your hand. A see-through window enables you to monitor the bait level, so you know when it’s time to be replaced. When bait is empty, dispose stakes in the garbage.

Where to Place Bait Stakes

Place TERRO^® Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes near ant colonies or other locations where they are numerous. Apply the stakes near the perimeter of your home, especially near entrances where you think they may be getting inside. The stakes are weatherproof, offering protection in any condition. The more bait placements, the better!

How Liquid Bait Works

Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet, sugary liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.

Meanwhile, the active ingredient, Borax, is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.
